The Queen of Country has been vaccinated.
“Dolly gets a dose of her own medicine,” Dolly Parton, 75, tweeted on Tuesday, alongside a photo of herself at her appointment, sporting a sparkly-blue, long-sleeve shirt with upper arm cutouts in just the right place for the coronavirus vaccine injection.
In the tweet, Parton tagged her vaccine site — Nashville, Tennessee’s Vanderbilt University Medical Center — where she calmly sits in a low-backed chair in front of a logo-covered backdrop.
“I’m finally gonna get my vaccine — I’m so excited,” Dolly told followers in an Instagram video posted from her appointment. “I’ve been waiting a while, I’m old enough to get it, and I’m smart enough to get it,” she told her fans, specifying that she received the Moderna COVID-19 shot, which she helped fund with a $1 million donation last April.
Then, “to fit the occasion,” the “9 to 5” star launched into a rendition of “Jolene” where she instead sings, “Vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, I’m begging of you, please don’t hesitate … ’cause once you dead, then that’s a bit too late.”
“The faster everyone gets vaccinated, the faster we can return to normal,” she went on, before taking aim at those who don’t plan to — or are on the fence about — getting vaccinated.
“I just want to say to all of you cowards out there: Don’t be such a chicken squat. Get out there and get your shot.”

I’ve always liked Dolly.
Exactly right. I’ve had vaccines for several things such as smallpox and polio, even took a tetanus shot a few years ago after maybe 50 years without one. I don’t take flu shots, because I don’t get the flu, but I am seriously considering the shingles vaccine because I had chickenpox when I was a kid. My wife had shingles about 10 years ago, and she did not enjoy it at all.
I’m not by any stretch of the imagination an anti-vaxxer, but I have no intention of taking any of the coronavirus vaccines until they’ve been used for a few years. I’d rather face the very small chance of death or disablement due to COVID-19 than be part of a large-scale medical experiment.
Evidently, age is taking its toll on Parton. She didn’t used to be this partisan.
There are moral issues, long-term side effects issues, and alternative vaccines/treatments that make taking this vaccine a non-starter for many people.
It has nothing to do with cowardice. It is not cowardly to stand up for the unborn, for example. In fact, those who do are constantly attacked.

Over the past few weeks there has been a lot of talk in my vicinity about people being afraid of the ‘rona. You know, mask karens accosting people, etc.

Who’s the coward, Dolly? My momma is almost 87...no vaccine for her..because she fears the Lord, not the government. Takes a stronger woman than you think are to stand up for what you believe in.
I’m going to avoid the vaccination, but my wife should probably do it. We are in different situations and the risk/reward equation produces a yes and no. Ashame that I have no reason to trust the media or others in charge. The truth is they don’t deserve my trust because they do everything they can to deny the Truth.
Or Fauci forgetting which arm he got the fake vaccine, shortly after it was supposedly “injected”.

I agree with all your points. They must be putting something that turns people liberal in the Botox—either she has changed, or she’s stopped hiding it. She still makes a good gospel song now and again, though.
I think she may be emotionally invested in people taking it because I think I read she had donated a huge amount of money to the development of the vaccines. Forgive me for not looking it up tonight.
I’m personally going to wait. If I have to take it, say, to get on an airplane, I might force myself to, but if so, I hope it’s the J&J.
Dolly seems intent on weeding out all of the people who made her famous before she kicks the bucket. What a strange way to go out...
