They only had to do the last half-mile by hand cart. What a stupid article.

I heard that North Korea got one COVID case, and the fellow who had it was shot.

Well, at least his carbon footprint was really low. And as an aside. Can anyone imagine any soy-boy US diplomat doing this?

I’ve heard of going to hell in a handcart, but not of leaving —”in the same fashion.

I wonder if they had been logging at the world-famous “Hotel of Doom” in lovely Pyongyang?

Is that the new Cuomo plan flatten the curve?

The fairly short border is all river. There is one rail bridge across it. Dual gauge shows that the picture was taken very near the border. Just past the station and rail yard on the Russian side, it’s only broad gauge. I can’t imagine that that continues very far into North Korea which uses standard gauge. As do China and South Korea.

Turns out the distance they traveled on the hand car was 0.6 mile.

That’s what happened to a once fine railroad. The Chicago Burlington and Quincy RR. My grandfather retired from the Q. He was a boiler maker.

India has some cool dual gauge lines they have 3 rails one is common to both and there is two on the otherside they have meter guage, wide gauge, narrow gauge and standard gauge the most I saw in one place was a quad rail with meter gauge, 5’6”, and narrow gauge

That would be pretty cool to see.

That sounds crazy. Would love to see how they were handling the traffic from each direction.

I admit I haven’t always paid close attention to rail while traveling.

only thing i recall I’ve ever seen in quad rail was in a building. An old navy yard building had a very large overhead crane that was still in service. It had DC motors and hydraulic brakes. The main frame had double rail for each side.

Crazy stuff man has developed to solve problems over the years....

No, instead they meekly bend over to get an anal swab!

I think they still have to do the swap once they get across the border.

I have looked at Google maps to try to figure out what they do at the French- Spanish border. It appears that Spain does have some variable axle cars. And the high-speed network in Spain has been built standard gauge instead of the national standard.

This is an indication that Russia has lost its earlier status in NK.

The question is: what has China promised?

... and now they are very open with the bad situation in NK:
Translation from Russian:
The locks on the gates of the missions of Great Britain, Venezuela, Brazil, Germany, Italy, Nigeria, Pakistan, Poland, Czech Republic, Sweden, Switzerland, France have already been hung, all foreign personnel of international humanitarian organizations have left. Only 9 ambassadors and four chargé d’affaires currently represent their states here, and the staff of most of the embassies still functioning here has been reduced to a minimum.
Meanwhile, over the building of the Russian diplomatic mission in the very center of Pyongyang, the white-blue-red tricolor is still proudly fluttering. Of course, we also have a hard time, there are a lot of problems, several families were forced to interrupt business trips for various reasons. But the working capacity of the team is fully preserved, we are performing and will continue to perform all the functions assigned to us. The Motherland can rely on us!

The little Kim will not be pleased.

They could move to the hotel of doom and try the room service kimchi?

Not many paying customers this year.
