Well Hello Dolly! (ba-dish)

Good morning all Deplorables in good standing!

Hang in there Dolly- I had a couple of fixer-uppers that I bought and paid for that fell under the gaze of the city code enforcement officer, and over time I ended up getting sent to jail twice (3 days and 7 days) for “contempt of court” by not complying with orders to fix up the properties by a certain date, prompting me to have to sell a third home for .50 cents on the dollar to raise enough money to demolish the other houses to avoid a third trip to jail for 14 days.

One redeemable thing I did while in jail was get picked by another inmate to wash a police car that was going to be escorting a funeral procession.

The completely ironic thing about the inmate that picked me was the fact that he and his father owned a demolition company and I was looking for him to try and make some kind of deal to tear down my houses until I decided not to tear them down, but then when faced with 14 days in jail I decided that tearing them down was starting to look like a good option. LOL

Tough times don’t last- but tough people do!

Hell yeah! Been there! Done that! Got the T-shirt! Woot! Woot! MAGA! KAG! Winning! All Aboard!

FWIW- Why I’ve been off the board:

My laptop computer’s battery finally tapped out and the shutdown came to a spectacularly abrupt ending with an instantaneously black screen and an otherworldly electrically buzzing sound of doom happening simultaneously. Thankfully, I had a spare laptop out in my truck that I erroneously thought had a bad battery needing to be replaced, and in checking it out discovered that I was good to go, so here I am back in the saddle much to my surprise.

First off, I want to thank all of you for the prayers, kind words, and salutations that I received regarding what I believe to be good news regarding my cardiovascular system tests, although I do meet face to face with a cardiologist on the 21st who might have more to say on the matter, good or bad, so I will temper my presently buoyant attitude for the time being with a wait and see approach.

Anyway, thanks to the modern marvels of technology and the Interwebs, we can accompany Dolly on her shopping trip with a virtual tour of Snow Bros Appliances.

Virtual tour- What is pretty cool about this function is that it opens up looking right down an aisle of stoves, and one can proceed down the aisle inspecting any of the dozens of stoves available. If only it were live, Dolly could wave at us. LOL

Lastly, look for me to respond to your comments one by one as I read them over the coming days. Just scanning some of the pages in the thread at one hundred replies per- there are some real gems in all of your posts on the various topics of the day, and stepping back for a few days really gave me a great perspective on the brilliance that powers this place. Really appreciative of everyone’s contributions that spring from a life well-lived, which is a commonality that binds us together. Good job everybody.

freepers, I wondered what happened to you and if I hadn’t seen you by today I was going to post to you asking if you were Ok but it looks like you wouldn’t have received it anyway.

Can’t you use your laptop plugged into electricity? That is what I do. I rarely use it with the battery in.

Hi everyone. Havent caught up with thread yet. Just reponding to pings...

Jemian I hope you have the computer mess under control. You know who I KNOW would have helped you? Common Tator. Ray had his moments/issues etc but he did have a big and giving heart and he was probably one of the most talented IT/computer whizzes I knew. My brother is another.. he was incharge of IT in OK for several decades. Ray was better. He did a lot of the software for Micrcosoft.. good or bad.. he had talent. I would watch him for hours do code to design something, create a masterpiece.

Rusty.. we went looking for electric. She ended up getting gas. There were on 2 electric models available (not including flat tops) and one of them was not self cleaning oven. Which was what she wanted. And we both knew with the cast iron, it would only be a matter of time that the glass flat top would be destroyed

I had been after her for two months to order as she wanted installation her week off - next week on Monday. HA. She ordered and late May will be the earliest they will be in. Also ordered a microwave/fan unit above;. Both had been pretty much destroyed by her now dead boyfriend . Big guy brut strength. On a lot of psychotic/anti depressant for Post Traumatic. 3 tours in sandbox.

Freepers up. tickled you went to the Snows site and walked down the isles we did. When Jenny first was investigating a new stove she was going to go to Lowes or Home Depot.. both near us etc. I suggested she go to a mom and pop place. She asked her mom for ideas and Snow brothers was suggested. There apparently has been a huge surge in kitchen updating... there is a real back log on product as a result. It was fun going through all the beautifully designed kitchens.. one was as large as our entire condo. Id be very happy in it.. just move my bed to a corner. The prices varied from reasonable upward.. and that is WAY upward.

The only other place Ive seen such variety (but not modern) is a Lehman’s hardware in Kidron Ohio. If you’ve never heard of it or been there it is amazing. Right in the heart of Amish country where the products are popular. But more money is spent by tourists and people who travel far to come just for the store. It is huge.

https://www.lehmans.com/

if you browse around the webpage you’ll see the vast amount of variety and unique products they have. The president sits in his little modest office right off one of the showrooms and the door is open to go in and visit.

The store’s inventory has been used in pix where set designers need period home furnishings.. fun stuff for sure.

ill keep you all posted on the progress or lack there off with issues on the raccoon house! Owing back taxes and a roof replacement lien (and maybe razing) are three numbers right off the bat to subtract from what ever sales price is determined. Having been a broker and a commercial broker later in my career I had a LOT of experience with distressed homes and marketing. Creative deals is what I always liked.

Im hoping to get back to my Norwex once I move through the house situation. I do need an income and my hopes of being symptom free or reduced to be able to get a regular part time job.. is about gone. The scoloiosis is very advanced. This morning I only walked 20 feet to fill the 3 bird feeders and spasms started & I had to sit down.

CAtch up time. Gets depressing to try to follow any news. Its usually not good.

love and hugs from NE Ohio...
