My son was in an ROTC program, plenty smart, not obese, no criminal record. But he decided he no longer wanted to serve because of the wokeness and the election.

Have to consider if the country we are becoming is worth defending.

You are correct, I would not recommend the military now, they are more concerned with wokeness than readiness.

You still have to separate the country from the government. Is the country worth defending? Yes. The current government, not so much...

I’m a Veteran, and I tell everyone to stay away.
Maybe serve in some non combat, mostly White AFSC in the Air Force...

My son has four friends who joined up, all four have separated after doing their tours. A couple have talked about how their CO tried to trick them into re-signing up.

All of them regular red-blooded males. Three out of 4 white.

I agree. My father served in the Army back in the 60s and really tried to steer my 19 year old in that direction. Until a recently retired career officer told him how incredibly “woke” everything had become. I know several young men (all private school educated, high school athletes, good kids from good families) who have been turned off from military service because of this.
