I agree. My father served in the Army back in the 60s and really tried to steer my 19 year old in that direction. Until a recently retired career officer told him how incredibly “woke” everything had become. I know several young men (all private school educated, high school athletes, good kids from good families) who have been turned off from military service because of this.

The comparison is not to what is used to be but to everything else currently.
