The currently called Book of Enoch is not even Jewish at all but Ethiopian.
The reason God Flooded the earth was to kill the giants born after Gen 6:1. They were evil. They were demonic. They came from fallen angels. It's all plainly described in Scripture in detail.

God sent the flood because the earth was filled with violence. humans are quite evil on their own. No need to dream up some sort of demi-god to explain people being murderous.

The existent texts or rather FRAGMENTS of texts are in Amharic, found in Ethiopia yes, but I don't think one can definitively call the book as Ethiopian versus Jewish. It could also have been Ethiopian-Jewish or an Ethiopian-Jewish copy of an earlier text.
I've not seen anything that puts it definitively any way or the other.
