Big problems, I agree. And if we're going to have any hope of fixing them, we can't have our senators doing campaign ads for their own opponents. That is effectively what Cruz has done here.
These concern trolls don’t have a clue about Texans who voted for Cruz or will vote for him. The crowd being offended by this fake nothing burger would never vote for him. Cruz voters are pro family.

The liberals are not fleeing California to come to Texas. That had been debunked many times. And Texas does not let illegals vote. It's not California. And liberals efforts to play up this fake scadal will work about as well as all the fake scandals they tried against Trump and his supporters.

I’ve suffered without electricity for two days and I don’t blame Cruz for this or hate him for going to Cancun.
How about just sending the wife and kids,
With a cell/telephone, and a computer, he can talk with all of the other folk who are on the phone and on the internet - which is pretty near everyone who can do anything. If he was anywhere in Texas, that’d be what he’d have been doing.
It would still be a mistake. Leaving the state you represent during a disaster to go to Cancun with family was a dumb decision.
And after he got caught, then got caught again in the lie that his original plan was to come back yesterday and had to backtrack on that too...of course....
