Both good and bad methods of disciplining inappropriate classsroom behavior.
This brings back memories of when I was in school. Some teachers got it and some teachers did not.

I had 10, 11 and 12 pressed on my wrist from the teachers ruler several times a month back in 19 hundred and 51. 50 kids per class and one teacher. Teachers today are ....

I’ve had to learn the hard way teaching, but it’s better to be a Father O’Malley than a Bobby Knight.
I’ve found its dad’s, dad’s, dad’s. Fathers are the biggest factor in classroom discipline. And believe it or not, dealing with boys is a lot easier than dealing with the girls
I taught school ,1st grade, in 1954.55.......39 in my classroom....staff hadn’t caught up with the Baby Boom.

I started first grade in 1946. St. John Chrysostrom in the Bronx. Don’t remember how large the class size was, but we had to share desks. One nun, no assistants.
I started Kindergarten in 1961 at St. Stephens Elementary School in Kearny, NJ. One nun and about forty kids. Man. That America has vanished.
My school’s principal had a paddle on it’s own custom stand at the front of his desk, engraved “Attitude Adjuster”. That was the High School principal.
