It puts me in a bit of a quandary when they start asking me when I'll be getting the vaccine. Can't really say, "Umm... when they put me in a prison camp and forcefully vaccinate everyone..." For now, I just say things like, "Oh, I'll get around to it eventually...I'm going to let all the 'frontline' workers receive theirs first..." (meaning: like never.)

But it tells you something when even my kooky liberal SIL, who is a nurse, is refusing the vaccine.

I use it and it works everytime. Shuts them up.

I just say that because I am allergic to eggs, bee stings, mushrooms, penicillin, and a number of other things and have had bad reactions to the flu vaccine that out of an abundance of caution I am going to forgo the vaccine.

The only problem is that I have to remember not to eat eggs around anyone I tell this too and freak out whenever a bee is around.

The company I’m working for has some politically correct type sending out election alerts and such ... thinking they’re so well informed but all they really know is propaganda... I’ve been tempted to reply and correct at times but restrain myself and just try to stay under the radar when discussions arise as you’ve encountered lol

My brother came up with a good excuse. The Johnson&Johnson vaccine, initiated by President Trump and still in trials, is a REAL vaccine, actually meeting the definition: "any preparation used as a preventive inoculation to confer immunity against a specific disease, usually employing an innocuous form of the disease agent, as killed or weakened bacteria or viruses, to stimulate antibody production."

When anyone asks him, he says he's waiting on the REAL vaccine. He's not sure he'll take that one either, but it provides a reason for delay.
