:: the Blizzard of 78 ::
I recall swan diving off the second floor of the Swanson Science Lecture hall into the snow drift on the courtyard.
Had to do something while waiting for the 7-11 to open.
The Blizzard of 78 ::......
We were completely drifted in in the front of the house. The front door was completely packed. We had to dig a tunnel to get out of the front of the house. Great times for a 10 year old, not so much for the parents.
The rumblings of “common-sense” gun control has begun again.
Unfortunately, there is even less public will to stop them.
You see, on February 9, the Senate took up the question as to whether the Constitution was a valid guide in taking up the impeachment of a citizen.
They voted that the Constitution did not apply to a citizen of the United States. [Read that again...slowly].
If congress can vote on whether the Constitution is applicable (or not) to their actions of impeachment, what will stop them from voting on YOUR 2nd Amendment rights as applicable to the gun-control actions they may take?
We will allow them to do it again, won’t we?
:Blizzard of 78:
- I was still teaching and we had SNOW DAYS. Hubby had both fireplaces and the basement wood stove cranked up. It was so hot, we all had to wear shorts and tank tops in doors.
The neighborhood kids all had a great time sledding down our very long and steep hill. At night they built and bonfire and continued. We used to have a fun neighborhood. A lot of those people have moved on.
I sure do miss that wood stove in the basement.
