I was ten during the Blizzard of 78. That was before the news used doomsday adjectives for every storm big or small. They warned everyone that the blizzard was going to get bad. But the people knew what to do back then.
Lower Mid Michigan (15 miles south of 69) got about a foot of snow over night. Still snowing. The old Simplicity tractor with the snow blower ate well this morning and made quite work of the driveway and three house lengths of sidewalk.

I recall swan diving off the second floor of the Swanson Science Lecture hall into the snow drift on the courtyard.
Had to do something while waiting for the 7-11 to open.

We were the last plane out of O-Hare before they shut the airport down. Spent a week in the sun and could not believe the amount of snow that had piled up while we were gone.
