Looking for Android cell texting app with no Google involvement or snooping or ability to see what I text. Complete privacy from Google or any big tech or anyone other than who I text with.
Same for Android Calendar app.
We need to drop Google, Apple, Microsoft every way we can. Help them fail and disappear.
I use Brave browser beta version, and duckduckgo search, and Protonmail pro.
I think all 12 listed use Google. Do you know if one or more of them are totally offline no Google ?
I agree 100%. If these big tech CCpP comingled censors survive it is because we let them. This is war and about our and our grandchildren’s freedom, and about election integrity. The ball is in our court, and if our children have to ask us from concentration camps why we let it happen, we had better be able to say we fought the good fight and died trying to bring freedom back.
on it...
I haven’t; another FReeper guided me to check it out recently. I’ve just glanced over that site.
From what I found on them, they don’t work with 4G or LTE or 5G. Is there a service they work with.
Smile ok, but Apple is as bad as Google.
I want to communicate privately without big tech brother being able to read or store my communications. Like mailing a snail mail letter or talking on phone line that isn’t bugged.
bkmk
Meaning VPN encryption? Or email systems which uses the random number generator that matches the email up— like a one-time pad?
Telegram
That's not really accurate. Google uses Linux as a base, makes changes and release it as Android. Because of the terms of the Linux license, they have to make public all their source code for the extras stuff. Others can then take the Android source, strip/comment/ifdef out the special Google spy stuff and recompile. It really doesn't matter at that point if Google was involved in development.
There are a lot of third party calender apps. Why not pick one from a big reputable developer? Don’t pick one called “Joe’s Calendar App” that has 429 downloads. :)
Outlook is available for Android as a free download. I don’t worry as much about Microsoft because I consider them “big stupid” rather than “big evil” (Google).
I installed a custom OS on my nine year old Galaxy Note 2. Did not install the Gapps package, which is a separate component that installs the usual Google garbage. Phone runs fantastic and no Google crap/spyware on it at all. To be able to install apps on it one simply installs an app called “Aurora Store” which allows you to download and install whatever apps you need from the Google Play store. It acts as a go-between between your phone and the store - no Google account required. Works flawlessly. Highly recommend you give it a shot.
Yep. You’re right. Of course, this makes it very easy to see if there are any Google-implemented shenanigans in the code and to strip them out.
Ha ha—trick question.
Does that phone have to be authenticated as an Amazon device like their FireTV or tablets for use? If so, run for your life. Amazon spys like crazy on all their devices.
*Your Profile Page.
amazon is loaded with them but it’s amazon/enemy

degoogled in cell phones
Some are alternative OS like GrapheneOS or LineageOS. I have no idea which ones would work with which carriers. Some are just degoogled Android OS.
That is good to know. Thanks
