LSAggie, I’ve seen those predictions for quite a while. It always seemed a bit overblown to me. We used to camp out for a month-sometimes more in tents in locations with no electricity.
So in the rural areas, I always figured a country boy/girl could survive.
Ita not individual homes/ comfort AC, home refigerators, etc that would kill people off ( not to mention not that many have the skills to “camp” for that long)
It’s the food supply chain, grocery supply chain refrigeration, medical, pharmaceutical, transportation, etc. being shut down that would cause the massive deaths.
