This is a very minor point in the scheme of what went on, but I’ve seen flags. Unless they are made out of cotton, most flags would not ‘soak up’ blood. I searched for "inaugural parade" and I got "marching band".
Tonight I stumble across an inaugural parade that's different. The first version of it I found was so bright and sunny, the reflection in the brass instruments showed a bright blue sky dotted with white clouds.
