What a coincidence! Right as they were rising, too!
Morning my fellow Freeqs.
Washington DC has always had snow issues. Services, in my experience, weren’t managed well so that 1 inch of snow basically shut the place down. Plus people just didn’t know how to drive in it for the most part, comparetively.
Myanmar - doesn’t surprise me, always been a channel for bad stuff - drugs, slaves, etc. Beautiful scenery.
Markets around the world are up. Hong Kong closed +1 1/4, Japan +1, EU is averaging +1 as they move toward close, and US futures are looking to make it about a +1 opening bell.
Energy futures are up across the board, metals, interest rates, foreign exchange, and agriculture futures are down for the most part. Gamestop continues to be top biz news as the short hedgies can’t find enough available stock to cover their positions and the biz news and everyone else keeps trying to cover for them saying they are closing out positions and WSBrs are still not selling.
Eastern seaboard and Midwest appear to be getting additional snow. NYC getting up to 30” (https://weather.com). First time over a foot in 5 years. Rain on the west coast. Little bit of sunshine on the gulf coast, but otherwise everyone is cloudy with the one exception of Rapid City, SD which has a sunny disposition today in the midst of it all.
Light military air flights this morning and marine traffic seems pretty standard.
Facebook is taking flak from other tech types (Apple) as the infighting appears to be starting.
DC city council can’t enact new laws that have been passed by council because Congress is required to receive delivery of physical copies which they can’t do (HA)
Ghost Ezra says Richard Citizen Journalist on Telegram waited over 3 hours at the White House for the arrival of Congress critter meeting guests who never showed, was told the meeting was cancelled, and yet photos were released showing the meeting occurred.... just not at the WH.
For some reason even more busloads of NG are arriving in DC.
