Last time around, I liquidated half and parked it in treasury account, Dec. 2007-well ahead of the collapse.
Then reinvested a portion of that-since I was already retired, and needed a less risky portfolio. I had some mutual funds that I intended to liquidate early Jan. but got busy and didn’t get around to it.
When the market gets to record highs, it doesn’t hurt to take a few chips off the table. Course if we were “players” we could just purchase some “shorts”. Ha.
