This will impact more than just the Hedge Funds. The brokers and/or clearinghouses are going to have to default on their option contracts. Every contract that doesn’t cover with shares is going to result in a lawsuit for breach.

Last time around, I liquidated half and parked it in treasury account, Dec. 2007-well ahead of the collapse.
Then reinvested a portion of that-since I was already retired, and needed a less risky portfolio. I had some mutual funds that I intended to liquidate early Jan. but got busy and didn’t get around to it.
When the market gets to record highs, it doesn’t hurt to take a few chips off the table. Course if we were “players” we could just purchase some “shorts”. Ha.
Preventative measures are acceptable to a point, but what has happened here and now is beyond the pale.

I’m not sure exactly what half truth you are talking about. However, I do know that if past behavior is any indication, the half-truth will be on the part of the CDC, Fauci, and the government assuring us that there is absolutely no cause for concern. spit.
I use eTrade. Used to have my account at USAA but they moved everything over to Schawb and I said nope I’m out. Did the Schwab thing years ago and left when I didn’t feel I received appropriate service for the fees I was spending.
eTrade I get free trades (except options and special stuff), my margin (when I carry) is a reasonable % charge, and they answer the phone when I’m having issues. This week’s been crazy volume so site did lag a bit Tuesday but overall I’ve been happy with them.

A friend in her mid-80s, who is on 8 or 9 medications daily, can’t wait to get the vaccine. I pray she comes out all right if she does, but she hasn’t left her house much since March, so she thinks this is her ticket to a “normal” life. The vaccine is a human experiment, with many willing guinea pigs. We will altogether decline in this household.

Social media users have been sharing an article that undermines the COVID-19 vaccine by saying 24 people died in a nursing home in Auburn, New York, after it was administered.
The article does not mention that the nursing home’s COVID-19 outbreak predated the vaccinations.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says the COVID-19 vaccine does not infect patients with the disease, but those who may have contracted COVID-19 before they are vaccinated can become ill after a vaccination because it takes a few weeks for the body to build immunity.
I think the elderly individual, you've mentioned, is making a good decision all things considered. Don't begrudge people for making a decision different from yours. I say this because your comment about "the vaccine is a human experiment" bellitles everyone who doesn't see things your way.
I don't see things your way, is the response you made, including "with many willing guinea pigs" also trying to belittle me and my posts?
If so it's not working. People can see through that sort of thing. Especially when I've given documented 'sauce' that your initial accusation is false.
