A new Party?
Why?
We already own the old one.
With the victory of Donald Trump we saw the result of the Conservative movement that started with the TEA party effort some years ago.
All that remains is to clear out the old deadwood that clings to the bottom of the ship.
Look at the big map, a lot of red on there. And with the wind of change that Donald Trump has brought with him, we should be able to clean house right down to the local dog catcher..
But .. and yes there is a but ... Trump has brought the rats and the scalawags out of the shadows. He tore off the mask of hypocrisy that so many of our trusted pols hide behind. They can't hide now.
It's time to clean out the GOP. It all starts at the local level.
Did your local GOP party chair support Trump?
If not, then you know this is job 1, throw them out.
Did your councilmen support Trump?
Did your mayor support Trump?
Did your local state Representative support Trump?
Did your election supervisor support Trump?
How about school board members?
Start with the ones closest to the people. It should be clear where they stand, and don't put up with any "get em next time ". If they didn't openly vocally support Trump then throw them out. The only reason that we have rinos running the show anywhere is that we let them.
Then it's time for the secretary of state, the governors, congressmen.
If you want honest elections take control of the election supervisor position. That is a local position.
The easiest spot to get is the GOP chair for your area. Will you do the work it takes?
You, yes I mean YOU!
You want another party so you can go to the polls and look down a different list of names. Where do you think those names come from, how do you think they get on the ballot? If we don't have the fortitude to use what we have already won, we will never bring a slate of "new party" candidates to the field.
We have been working to build a conservative party for years, Donald Trump was the culmination of that effort.
All the "johnny come latelies" should get off their behinds and get involved with the WORK. (I'll go ahead and apologize for the "johnny come lately" comment, but I couldn't help getting a snarky remark in here somewhere).
I know the process of finding good candidates who will serve is a daunting task, but it has never been clearer who needs to be primaried and who needs support. Donald Trump has cast a light on the battle like never before. It's up to us to take the field.
All politics is local.
Tell me this GOP fluffers why the GOP candidate running for Governor in VA won’t even identify as a Republican on his campaign website? So tell me how is that we don’t need a new party if our candidates are ashamed to even admit to being Republican? THE BRAND IS SH!T.
Isn’t it amazing how quickly four year of GOP supported coup and now election steal goes down the memory hole of the GOP “primary them all” dreamers? The GOP have proven in the Age of Trump they will never reform and yet still we get these “we’ll fix it in the primaries” fantasies.
They don’t call the GOP the Stupid Party for nothing and it’s not because of who we elect.
The GOP is out of touch with it’s base so it will never work like you said.. Why do we have the CHANGE the party? Why not create a nationalist/patriot party that will give us the policy we want from the get go?
Why not start a party with no RINOs in it from the start?
WTF is a “GOP fluffer”?
LOL! at idiocy.
Anyway, the Va GOP is #### and we all know it.
Maybe people like me can change that if we listen to the OP.
So sorry you don’t approve...
The only way I would be motivated to participate is with a new party. The GOP makes me sick. I want that fetid party to die.
I assume you’ve never tried to influence any Va GOP Party in any way.
Above I posted I’ll give Jim 10 bucks for a reply from anyone who tried the OP’s recommendations.
No one has replied.
Very sad!
Well, that’s you at least. What of others? and those who would act to discredit you?
” GOP fluffers “
*Again* I ask what this stupid thing means. I assume you, again, won’t reply because it will make you look so, so stupid- and why should you do that unless you wish to be honest?
The furthest from your desire LOL!
and, yeah, the Va GOP is garbage. But maybe, like the OP suggests, people like me can change that by getting involved.
A fluffer is a person employed to keep a porn performer’s penis erect on the set.[1] After setting up the desired angle, the director asks the actors to hold position and calls for the fluffer to “fluff” the actors for the shot. These duties are considered part of the makeup department. While fluffing does not necessarily involve touching the actors, it could entail sexual acts such as fellatio or non-penetrative sex.[2]
Interesting perspective. Then you have interacted with the political machine I’ve been writing about.
What comes to mind for me is how people like Mitch McConnell stay entrenched. Never mind how the Seventeenth Amendment ravaged the system that the Founders instituted, in terms of state government representation in the federal government.
Though I know we, here on FR, are philosophers or mere keyboard warriors, I’m still amazed at so many who attack the OP’s intent.
The Dems, or their media, could attack it no harder.
What a disgusting way for you to proclaim your posts as idiocy.
But maybe some idiots won’t see...
You can hope.
I assume you, again, won’t reply because it will make you look so, so stupid- and why should you do that unless you wish to be honest?
So...
Do you wish to be honest?
LOL!
“A fluffer is a person employed to keep a porn performer’s penis ... “
LOL! at how your idiotic response will play on any thread about China.
You’re trapped in idiocy. By your own effort.
(Yeah, I’ll help LOL!)
I voted for Gerald Ford.
When you say you have been supporting the gop for 45 years exactly what do you mean?
For years the goal of those who seek power over others has been to increase the distance between the voters and the power.
Ever hear anyone say "I don't vote cause it won't matter"? Why would an 18 year old say that?
Someone taught them.
Ever hear anyone say "I vote but I don't get involved in politics ".
How many people do you know who have run for office?
How many people do you know who have cast a vote on a gop platform.?
Going to the polls every 2 years is great. And being informed on the issues is great.
Putting out yard signs and sending money is great.
But because that is the limit of the majority of conservatives , we have abdicated our responsibility to adequately vet candidates.
Is it any wonder that we get turn coats and ner do wells?
With the gop there are a lot of competing factions, some there just looking to feather their bed.
But there feet are not nailed to the floor, they can be removed. It just takes someone to push them out the door.
Donald Trump has given us a great tool. Truth.
A litmus test if you will.If they have supported Trump, great, if not hev-ho out you go.There will be weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth.
But their actions over the past several years will speak louder than their platitudes.
Now is the time. They can't hide behind false promises for the future. Judge them according to their works.
It only takes a few.
Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake.
I like the number 10.
Well stated - welcome to FR.
I was leaning toward a new Party because it seems far too many RINOs tolerated President Trump because he had coattails and they could bask in his accomplishments, but had their shivs out to plunge in his back when things got hairy.
My reasoning was the ones that stayed the course could be the base of a new Party - but the practical logistics and other “issues” would be prohibitive - far better to build on the base and turn the GOP into what we envision a 3rd Party should be.
I’d prefer Kristi Noem.
We don’t get to vote against the vast majority of them.
