Florida official offers to host Olympics if Tokyo backs out
Japan Times ^ | 01/26/2021

MIAMI – Florida’s chief financial officer on Monday told the International Olympic Committee that the state would be happy to host the Olympics Games amid speculation that current host Japan may back out.

Jimmy Patronis sent a letter to Thomas Bach, the head of the IOC, “to encourage you to consider relocating the 2021 Olympics from Tokyo, Japan to the United States of America, and more specifically to Florida.”

“With media reports of leaders in Japan ‘privately’ concluding that they are too concerned about the pandemic for the 2021 Olympics to take place, there is still time to deploy a site selection team to Florida,” he said.

The letter, signed by Patronis and posted online, cited the supposed strength of state’s vaccination rollout, its economic reopening and sports events it has hosted during the pandemic, as well as the fact that its theme parks, including Disney World, are open for business.

But Florida has struggled badly during the coronavirus pandemic, with over 25,000 deaths so far in the state as the U.S. death toll nears 420,000.

“Whatever precautions are required let’s figure it out and get it done,” Patronis said.

Last Friday, parties responsible for organizing the Tokyo Games — scheduled for last July but delayed one year because of the global health crisis — insisted they would be sticking to the planned dates of July 23-Aug. 8.

“I am determined to realize a safe and secure Tokyo Games as proof that mankind will have overcome the virus,” said Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga.

See: Brazil. Oh and don’t forget who and what are making this pitch... See: Mittens “the saviour of the Olympics” bullcrap artists.

Why not chi-town... that was what obamaumao’s pals tried to pull and were rejected by the Committee rightfully to Japan. The point person on chicago summer olympics-— ValJar the slum lord Iranian agent.

Florida does NOT want or need the Olympics. Especially with what financially is going to be done to the state by JoeBama and company.

Hard no from me, as a property owner.

I like Patronis but Florida is open, thousands moving in and no need for influx of foreigners.

And JUST WHO IS “Jimmy Patronis” Attn: Governor DeSantis— stop this bullcrap.

Patronis is a FL machine democrat (masking as a repub— like Charlie Crist was a repub, because of.... JEB!).

” After graduation, in 1998 (!!) Jimmy Patronis was appointed by Governor (WALKIN LAWTON the He-Coon Demonrat)CHILES... to the FLORIDA ELECTIONS COMMISSION (this being 3 years before BUSH v. GORE) and Again in 2001 by GOVERNOR JEB!! BUSH—where he served until 2003. Patronis also served as chairman of the Bay County Airport Authority from 2004 to 2006.

ELECTIONS COMMISSION democrat, appointed again by Rino loser JEB! then to one of the most corrupt counties in the state— Bay County.... to the Airport Authority.

Patronis is an APPOINTEE of FL Governor Rick Scott (now Senator chair of the Republican Senatorial Committee who has already stated he will not support any primary contender against the Romney cabal. Rick Scott— trying to set himself up as a President within the GOPe... which is proven to be DEMOCRAT heavy in the machinery.

Patronis is a big D democrat apparatchik from the Panhandle of FL. Lots of rake off money to be had, from Scott and the rest of them for this... grab.

The Chief Financial Officer of FL... making an offer when he has NO AUTHORITY to do so. That being the Constitutional purveiw of the FL Secretary of State and the Governor.

You beat me to it. Public officials love to host the Olympics. They get to brag. They get to pose with the athletes. But the taxpayers? They usually end up taking a significant hit.

Yes— always, a huge loss to the country, state and city involved. A giant sucking sound going to the payoffs on the Olympic Committee.

Some here may remember Jeff Atwater who was CFO before resigning to take over at FL Atlantic Univ in S. FL.

He was with Barnett Bank (long time Florida major bank). Having won a FL Sen. seat by a landslide against Dem. former Atty Gen. Bob Butterworth (cabal dem pal of Chiles et al), Atwater jumped into the race and won the CFO position.

Alex Sink (major dem liberal chickie whom the dems ran in associated standin from her major Gov race loser husband Bill McBride (dem) who lost to JEB!) ran against Rick Scott for gov. and lost, again. The battle of the Jax Bankers (Sink was Bank of America, the obamaumao slush bank).

Sink tried and lost getting into congress on obamaumao care’s back to try and take Bill Young’s FL seat. Lost.

Atwater was to have run for the Senate seat to be vacated by the Presidential running Marco Rubio (who did not drop his seat). So, Atwater- a solid conservative for real— is still at FL. Atlantic Univ.

The CFO role has a lot of potential for pocket lining.

DeSantis needs to take a position— for the financial remaining stability of FL that is not dependent on escapees from COVID-Land. Not in this landscape— not the Olympics.

“No-— Just hell no. Gigantic sucking sound of money going OUT of Floridians hands... through the grifter of ever stripe.”

Use the Florida State campus for Olympic housing. There are numerous college stadiums that can host games. There are pro stadiums for the big stuff.

I would add an ocean swim to the Olympics as a test sport. Maybe a one mile and two mile swim. It’s already part of the Iron Man.

Have Ron Gillum gavel in the celebration. That would work.

Or better— have it at Disney World— complete the entire obamaumao/JoeBama/ tranny athlete circle and cover it with advertising exclusivity and kickbacks from Disney owned ABC— now there is some “progressive” thinking.

Bring the infected COVID world to Central FL or the Panhandle. Sure— that’s really good business. What a nightmare.

The Japanese have fully built facilities. The complete cancellation would cost Japan ¥4.52 trillion (US$41.5 billion), based on operating expenses and loss of tourism activity.

This is not something FL should take on with substitute “campus” facilities and incredible overhead that the JoeBama peeps will screw with... daily, the extension of COVID porn fear, Fauci fake regulations, vaccine passports for US population in-country and screwing with the State for kicking biden/harris’s ass. Patronis is showing his colors— like a baboon.

This CFO is jumping a shark. The Japanese have definitely NOT cancelled. They are organized, efficient and most of all— anti-Chi-Com. they have lived with that tiger for centuries as has all of Asia. We should not bring it to FL.
Ever.

This from wiki— the rumor mill:
On 21 January 2021, multiple sources (WHO? oh, W.H.O.) reported that the Japanese government “privately concluded” that the Games had to be cancelled. The government denied the claims, stating that the reports were “categorically untrue”.

LOL, thank goodness for Republicans. It’s stuff like this that makes the Dems want to restrict your 1st amendment, they simply cannot compete on the issues.

Yes. But because it would be a last minute, seat-of-your-pants operation, there would be no new construction, saving a lot of expenditures.

It would have to use existing facilities, probably at state universities and pro sports stadiums. The economic impact of a hundred thousand more visitors, spread all over Florida, would be a nice tourism boost.
