Actress Tanya Roberts, who starred in the TV sitcom That '70s Show and the 1985 James Bond movie A View to Kill, has died at age 65 from a urinary tract infection (UTI) that spread to other parts of her body.
The sad news came after a bizarre turn of events. TMZ initially reported, via Roberts' publicist Mike Pingel, that the star collapsed at home on Christmas Eve after walking her dogs. She was then taken to the hospital and put on a ventilator, according to the news outlet, but never recovered and died on Sunday (January 3). Roberts' husband of 18 years, Lance O'Brien, told the outlet he was unable to visit her in the hospital because of COVID-19 restrictions, but hospital staff made an exception when they realized the actress probably wouldn't survive. He believed Roberts died during his visit, and relayed the news to Pingel.
But on Tuesday, Pingel confirmed that Roberts actually died on Monday night. In a statement to Metro.co.uk, he said, "With a heavy heart I can confirm the death of Tanya Roberts (age 65) last night on January 4, 2021 around 9:30pm PT at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA."
The rep also confirmed that Roberts' cause of death was "a urinary tract infection which spread to her kidney, gallbladder, liver and then bloodstream."

Hmm. I read, on several online medical sites, including mayo clinic I think (should I laugh I get med advice online??) that one should get the unsweetened type. I just got over a UTI (took about 5-7 days). I took antibiotics and ate yogurt and drank a very small amount of cranberry juice. It was unsweetened, tasted horrible. Hard to get myself to drink any.
I damn near died from one last summer due to crappy doctor.

A memorial for Tommy Lasorda was held at Dodger Stadium...He was later buried at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier...I guess Tommy did not want to be buried at Dodger Stadium...

There’s a self test by Azo you can buy at the pharmacy. It tests for two types of UTI. A couple times it has helped me decide whether to go to the walk-in clinic or not. Helpful but when in doubt, see a doctor.
I have never been that close. Had an injury to my toe that was a slow healer, yep Type II. It did heal and that’s when it hit the fan, the wound stopped draining and the toe went from normal color with no smell to slightly pink at bedtime to black in the morning. When I woke my bed was SOAKED from sweat and it was pouring out of me in waves. I lost 30 lbs in 10 days from sweating and being on the toilet constantly.
They said they would take the big toe for sure and maybe all of them and perhaps half the foot if thing were really bad. I woke up with just the big toe gone but with a trench across the base of the other ones, all their bones exposed to the naked eye. The surgeon came in every morning and debride my wound, the guy is amazing, and is a general type surgeon, he said he doesn’t believe in specializing and prefers to take ‘em as they come.
The hand however was assigned to another surgeon by the hospital and I’m not blaming her but I don’t think she wasn’t as diligent as the 1st. At some point a small wound or bite developed about the size of a dime and they honestly never pinned down the cause. There was puss that they flushed out 2Xs daily by soaking in saline and eventually by draining with a tube, then she drilled another “window” on the other side of the hand creating a tunnel through my hand, by the time she operated the 2nd time two tendons were eaten through but the infection stopped.
This was Feb 2020 just as Covid hit and Infectious Disease were all over my case, glad I got out of the hospital when I did after 14 days - the initial Maderna outbreak happened in my town a week later. I honestly don’t think I would have survived if it spread through the hospital
I’m still going to a podiatrist once weekly to get my foot debride, still not in a real shoe - just an open one. I have a nurse come in once a week to check my vitals and to inspect the wound for inspection.
Lots and lots of deep breaths, my lungs were shot for 6 months.
The wound been closed for about two weeks now but the skin is thin and ripe for a blister - already had one at the amputation site, a month setback. Now I’ve developed cellulitis or perhaps phlebitis on the same leg above the knee - waiting on ultrasound results.
So I can see how fast one’s health can change on a dime post age 60. RIP to Tanya.

Last I knew the Catholic Church wanted the ashes to be kept in one place. Some Protestant churches don’t care...I’m not sure about others...neither do I know what faith Tanya Roberts was.

That’s rough. I was feeling sorry for myself for having blown out a couple of disks. It’s painful as hell and probably has the potential to kill me if I get Covid. When I cough or sneeze, it about brings me to tears from the pain. I just can’t imagine having something that makes me cough and sneeze frequently. God has seen to it that the Covid vaccine was available to me though and I have had managed to get both doses in me already. I’m sure he’ll see me through this and have me back in the good fight stronger than ever soon and I pray he does the same for you partner. Good luck.

Not necessarily. About 20 years ago I had one that presented with fever and chills. There was none of the usual pain. I thought I had the flu. When I finally got to the ER the doctors told me that if I had delayed for a few more hours they don’t think they could have saved me. And I was young and healthy.
Yes, unfortunately, the Catholic Church changes it rules. It used to be that cremation was forbidden, now they allow it. I’m guessing that since ashes generally stay in one area when dispersed (except over water) that they’ll get around to okaying that too.
