It’s.... GROUNDHOG DAY!
And they’re impeaching Trump!
Just like every February 2nd!
Six more weeks of crazy
a friend and I went to Punxsutuaney for the groundhog day celebrations a few years back. It was a lot of fun. Small town with a lot of cute shops. LONG walk however up the hill to where the BIG EVENT actually occurs. It was cold and snowy and icy. in the town square was set up like a festival/carnival. vendors, movie memorabalia and the fun thing for me was the array of ice sculpting on display. We left at about midnight from Ohio to get there on time. At three meals at various cafe’s /restaurants.. Drove back that night. There was one downtown hotel.. very old school but it was sold out. We hadn’t planned on spending night but the old hotel was charming. Maybe it was the one used in movie although Im pretty sure it was a set. again sorry for typos, this small screen (xcracked) and my poor eyesight are a bad combo
forgot to mention. The groundhogs (and there are several of them) live at the community library. They have large glassed in area with a habitat suitable for the critters. They are very tame, like cats or dogs and really cute I think. You can view them from inside the library or outside where there is also a large glass viewing area
Y’all need to listen to Georgia Beau; he’s predicting an early spring.

I’m going with your groundhog. But he’d better be right! ;)
Happy birthday, pax!
Hope it is a very special day for you.
How’s your ankle? ๐
I haven’t seen the oldest since before I moved to Texas. The youngest, Kevin I saw when I went to visit in 2015. He’s married and has 2 little boys. My niece said his MIL brought the boys outside the hospital and they wheeled Kevin outside and they were SO happy to see their dad. He’s very upset about his big brother death. His dad, my nephew, died in 2009 of cardiac arrest when he was just 43. He lived with my sister and BIL, then just my BIL until he passed away. So he moves to Oregon where his wife’s family lives and KC went there too, they were on their way to work that morning and KC tried to pass on a curve, and now he’s gone too. The two people in the other vehicle died too. I bet they were behind a truck going slow and he didn’t want to be late to work.
I don’t know his prediction rate. LOL But I’m a southerner, not a northerner, so I’m claiming him.
I was just watching a YouTube video showing the 10 reasons why to move to Wyoming, which is the state I’m considering retiring to if I don’t get a travel trailer to travel in for my retirement. One of the things mentioned was the low crime rate; while discussing that, the narrator mentioned that Wyoming has the highest per capita number of guns in the US.
I looked it up; the most recent info I could find was 2017. At that time, Wyoming had 229 guns PER PERSON!! Second highest was DC, with 68 guns per person.
What about Texas, you ask? A measly 21 guns per person. Twelve other states beat it and 3 tie it.
Yep, she’s a war monger.
Cool. Thanks for the link.
Good grief! 229 guns per person! That certainly explains the low crime rate!
Good grief, bad mouthing the police.
