I don’t think they would be doing that here anytime soon, but these days who knows?
Didn’t know about Kuwait, been taking mental breaks dealing with my nephews` car accident.
Sounds like you live around a town that was like the one I lived in before here. The town itself had a population of about 2000; the next closest town had of about 12,000 (that one had the Super Walmart).
My little town had a small chain hardware store, 2 small chain grocery stores, a Family Dollar and a Dollar General, a small chain auto parts store, 2 local banks (biggest one had 5 branches in the whole area), a few mom-and-pop restaurants and a few chain fast food restaurants. We didn’t even have a McDonald’s!
I miss it, but it’s definitely more convenient for me where I am now (town of 150,000 or so).
I had a long talk with my niece that lives aroung
Modesto yesterday. After telling me the bad news that two of my great-nephews were 8n a car accident and one died on the scene, she started talking about the political situation there. She says there are still Trump vehicle parades and a lot of people still support Trump. No surprise to me but good to hear it from the ground.
Sorry to hear about your great-nephews.
I am totally isolated here. The only thing I am seeing here is store/restaurant closing or people leaving apartments. Every apartment complex is having special deals.
I didn’t watch the video. When I lived in California, my dental hygienest was an Afghani that had lived in Germany for a long time before moving here. He loved this country! He told me about the high taxes, etc., and told me how living good in Germany meant a tiny apartment with a tiny refrigerator, etc. He told me living in US was so much better than Germany, let alone Afghanistan. He had a motorcycle but was so happy he could have a car if he wanted to.

He’s still here.
I used to use Amazon a lot. But my Kindle updated and wiped out my user information. Calls didn’t help, I was told to open an account with a different email, didn’t work.
I’ve lived so far without Amazon.
I know I was told not to respond to you, but ππππ
The video he is criticizing, media is lying, political circus, if you are not wearing a mask when you are alone, it means you are Trump supporters, homeless in San Francisco and basically they encouraging them with policies, Big tech, lack of curiosity, Obamacare premium, etc. in San Francisco 711 is also closed, at the end he is saying, the USA is still the best.
I’ve been wondering about that! And especially in Florida, since the weather is good there and President Trump now lives there, if there are still the boat parades.
Paying a bit more to buy from the manufacturer instead of from Amazon is worth it if it helps to save our country. If anyone donated to the RNC, that money can now be better used to buy from someone other than Amazon.
... and for the amazing job I will be getting from someone with influence in the Dem party.
That would be me. I'm getting at least 6 emails a day that are GOP fundraising-related. I think some (like Josh Hawley) might be directly to his campaign but I can't tell for sure so I'm not sending any money. Besides, it's almost 2 years before the next election!
Right now, I'm keeping my powder dry and seeing what the Congresscritters do with the impeachment trial.
I donβt recall getting campaign donation requests immediately after an election in previous years. There were at least a few months break before the solicitations started coming again. Is that my imagination?
I am so sorry about your great nephews. Such a heartbreaking tragedy. They must be so young. I will pray that the survivor will make a complete recovery.
I agree Freee-dame. I’m going to pony up and pay whatever I have to in order to avoid Amazon. They’re building one of their gigantic distribution centers about 3 miles from here on the highway. The thing is monstrous.
Oh no Rusty. That’s so awful. I’m so sorry. How old are your great-nephews? So awful.
Well, I figure if I can cut out Fox, then I can live without Amazon. I used to watch nothing but Fox. I haven’t watched it since election night....even the ones I like. I catch the odd Tucker clip if someone posts one on gab. Having said that, I did watch something last night because I happened on it....it was Lara Logan doing a show on that poor, poor family in Mexico that lost mothers and kids because of a cartel attack. I cried listening to those beautiful kids trying to move on with life. Terrible.
