Many have offered up reasons for the military buildup all over the country, including over 26,000 in DC alone. I've pondered this for days and here's all I've been able to come up with:
1. You don't need 26,000 national guard troops to guard DC.
2. The people from Jan. 6, whichever sides they were on, are not hanging around for another run at the Capitol.
3. I do not believe the theory that these troops are there to round up all of the leftist criminals and send them to Guantanamo.
4. The only logical explanation is that this a show of force by the new regime. This still seems like overkill. Note that they're now vetting these guardsmen and have rejected two of them for "far-right connections."
5. You don't spend this kind of money and show of force for a single event if you can kill several birds with one stone. I theorize that the Biden administration is going to be making several highly consequential announcements in the first week of his presidency, and these will all be highly unpopular with about 50% of the country. THIS is why the troops are necessary in DC and throughout the country. We're being told about some of these announcements, but let's see what all gets slapped down on the Oval office desk in the next 14 days. Whatever is coming down the pike, the Leftists are worried that the citizens will revolt as the tidal wave of leftist gobbledygook is rolled out.
Does anyone know when the troops are supposed to leave? If what I said above is true, they won't be leaving right away.
Boy, earlier last year, when the White House and other protected federal buildings and monuments were under siege, and being burned and even destroyed, AND when 140 + secret service, marshals, and Capitol police were injured (I believe over 50 seriously injured), Pelosi’s Congress threatened Trump with another impeachment, if he ordered the NG into DC!

In the wake of Vietnam, and the end of the draft, the US Military looked to a smaller active force with an increased reliance on reserve and national guard forces. A major factor that figured into this thinking was that a large standing military of conscripts (generally those that could not, or would not get around being drafted) was detached from society and this in turn led to the unpopularity of the Vietnam war.
The thinking was an increased % of guardsmen and reservists would seed servicemembers throughout communities in the U.S. and would engender more support in the event of a large scale mobilization. Few people cared if the high school dropout or troublemaker got drafted and sent overseas with faceless others from around the country, but when a local high school teacher, car mechanic etc. that people knew got called up, the community would be more inclined to support them. Indeed, this thinking seemed to play out to a degree during Desert Storm.
But now, it may play out in reverse. These guardsmen will at some point, have to go home where people know them, and whatever they do, or don't do in DC is going to go with them with the full knowledge of the community to which they are returning. I hope and pray, for their sake and the nation's, that they can go home quietly, with their honor in tact and nothing more than a few photos of DC to show their kids and a few extra bucks in their pockets from this deployment.
It is an overwhelming show of force to let the entire country, but mostly 74+ million President Trump coters, of who is in charge and that they will use the ‘barrel of a gun’ to keep us all in line.
It is simply a threat by our government.
Just because I choose to live in reality, does not mean I succumb to despair. It just means I don’t base my life around waiting for magical events.
Moving 25,000 NG troops from all over the country to DC is not done without extensive planning and command involvement. It is huge. Everybody in the country and the world knows about this overkill of troop presence in the nation's capital. This was not done without authorization from the highest level of command. Some low level bureaucrat or deep state clerk didn't sign off on this and set it motion with a phone call.
I don't care who you are, some general officer would not have authorized this on their own without being in deep shit. It would never have gotten off the ground before it was halted to find out who and what was behind it. There is structure and chains of command in the military and somebody's head would roll if this was attempted without the commanders and JCs involved.
Joe Biden has no such authority yet and neither does any other democRAT deep stater. This was not done "under the radar" as you call it.This was authorized by Chis Miller, Trump's Defense Secretary, at minimum.

You are correct. Any idea why President Trump ordered military troops to DC?
1) Trump will order them to arrest Biden and Kamalla.
2) To cover his butt against any violence that might be caused by radical, 50- 70 year old right-wingers.
3) To protect Biden and our government against left-wing BLM and Anti-FA groups that are planning a false-flag riot based on intelligence information.
(I’m going with #3).
Number 2 is still a bit in the future.
You know how long it takes to slap in mag? All it takes is one or two guys with backpacks full of mags to pass them around.
I'm not an insider, so no, I don't know why this was done in such overwhelming numbers.

My unit was supposed to fly home Tues, but the unit we’re supporting now needs us to drive their crap home also... So now we’re stuck here until Fri or Sat.
I dunno bout most of the guys here, but with not much going on they should be heading home within a day or two.

The Troops were authorized to use Lethal Force against American Citizens, don’t forget that.

Not to nitpick, but constitution is still there. Its a yellowed piece of paper thats ignored by federal society judges and corrupted people at all levels in society.
