Right now there is massive normalcy bias.
Things change.
If Bidet causes a major depression (and I mean an extended multi-year 25% + drop in GDP) and it hits some states much harder than others, then the unthinkable may become thinkable.
Secession will require large parts of the population unemployed with no hope and nothing to lose.

The idea of the Union was present in Washington’s writings during the Revolutionary War.

What they have discovered is that it is not a “very important part of being free” but it is a very important part of gaslighting the precariat class into thinking it is still free. It is simple gaslighting. They succeeded spectactularly.

Which is why I think secession should be extended on a county by county basis.

Maine seceded from Massachusetts, Tennessee seceded from North Carolina, Kentucky seceded from Virginia, Vermont seceded from both New York and New Hampshire. Each time, with the consent of all states involved and the consent of Congress.

Especially if the south sued for peace once they had the military advantage. Some kind of spiritual hubris operating at that time.

“media presenting things to this nation”
***The point is, it will be a new nation, with probably its own media ready to counter the bullshiite from the old media libtards.

I agree the attack on Fort Sumter was stupid. I think they were simply chest puffing and saying they were great. Stupid move.

South wouldnt have won
Like i said they left for a huge morally wrong reason that pretty much wiped out any potentially vald reasons they might have argued.
But sure the side winning can always put out a peace offering. Whether or not its taken, probably not. The other side would see it as a weakness, and it might be. Stuf may be stretched too thin, or running out of funds, fighters, fuel, ...

You’re introducing too many issues.
Choose 1, post 1.
Choose another, post it.
Choose them one at a time, post them.

Sounds like the new motto for Texas. Rather than “everything is big in Texas” it could be “Texas Can”. I like it.

“No. It’s not legal. That’s why we fought the Civil War.”
Maybe time for a re-match.

Jefferson Davis was arrested at the end of the Civil War ostensibly to be charged and tried for Treason. Never happened and he was released. Why? Because legal scholars and others at the time could not show that secession was unconstitutional.
