So called “razor wire” is actually concertina wire.

No it is different, but it is coiled.

Razor wire features pointed barbs at regular intervals along the central strand. If a person or an animal that is trying to go through barbed wire fence may get cuts and grazes. Concertina wire has sharp blades which can slice deep into your flesh and cause fatal injuries sometimes.

and the transponder and everything went off.

That is part of the post landing checklist. Turning the transponder to OFF, keeps it from interfering with active flyers still in radar contact.

***anticholinergics? some liver function thing... ***

I am a bit guilty of being overly clever; I tend to use the term anticholinergic as a drying agent and thus decongestants. It is slightly misleading but anticholinergics have been used as decongestants for over 70 years. Contac cold medicine - since forced off of the market - contained hyocyamine, atropine and scopolamine, all tiny doses of anticholinergics (scopolamine was used as a truth drug in WWII {Where Eagles Dare}.

Ipatropium, in the form of ipatropium bromide, is used to treat respiratory distress. Diphenhydramine - Benadryl - is popular as both a decongestant and a sleep aid (but not for me.) I take anticholinergics chlorphenamine (chlorpheniramine maleate) and doxylamine (sold as Unisom - a sleep aid) which work well for me.

I add fexofenadine (brand name Allegra), a 24 hour decongestant and phenylephrine HCl.

Forgive the slide but I fell into it. :^)

Oh my goodness! I was thinking of the word “cholagogue” and maybe same root, I was way off. I have heard of scopolamine. Wow, atropine, too, probably such tiny amounts so harmless.

Just wondering - do you have more than one brain?

where a couple of well-placed missiles could take them all out?

From where? You could say that about any large scale exercise held anywhere in the world. And those missiles would have to be nuke to kill all the personnel in such a large area.

Though I don’t know why you would want the enemy to know where your ‘uge flying tanks of jet fuel were located, that would not seem to be prudent. So I would go further and speculate those ‘tankers’ are not what they are squawking they are. AWACS perhaps?

Those tankers are over CONUS, there is no risk to them. AWACS as well as tankers are HVTs (High Value targets) Tankers in war run protected tracks and in non-permissive environments have escorts with them. AWACS even more so. Both the AWACS itself and other frames capable of the same mission to a lesser extent receive even more protection, they run the air war. There is no enemy air threat in CONUS. How do you tell? No burning wrecks of the enemy. No US military aircraft is required to squawk if the mission precludes it. Whether under FAA or ICAO.

That’s JS 113, the Sazanami. I’m not saying it would draw no parallel to Q drop 113, but a lot of people are saying that it’s the USS John Finn.

Once she resigns, she is no longer protected by her office as a Senator.

She won't be wanted for jaywalking, she has no senatorial protection from felonies.

It is tough to tell helos from the noise. I am guessing because of numbers and mission you are hearing Blackhawks, not Apaches as shown. Chinooks have a different sound since they have no tail rotor.

I was in DC twice for rallies in 2007; I remember riding a massive escalator. I didn’t think an escalator that massive was possible. And it was loooooong.

Umm, you are making the mistake of comparing Reagan post-presidency with Trump during his presidency. Big difference. Hell, the left loves Bush now.

Not Trump but the coup co-conspirators and other bad players.

They going to round them up, arrest them and take them into custody.

Trump will probably be in a SCIF, Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility, a U.S. Department of Defense term for a secure room. It can be a secure room or data center that guards against electronic surveillance and suppresses data leakage of sensitive security and military information.

Or he could be aboard one of the "doomsday" planes that accompany Air Force One in case of a nuclear war.

He probably will not be in the White House during this operation.

***Just wondering - do you have more than one brain?***

:^D Well, I am fairly certain that I have more than half of a brain!

My doctor often introduces me as a doctor, for which I chide him and wish he would stop. I am a student of medical subjects that interest me, just as you study medical uses for herbs. A surgical procedure I had about a year ago, I discovered that the surgical staff was wondering if I was a pharmacist. With my spinal surgery two years ago the surgeon kept asking me to name the surgery for everyone that passed by. I guess they are used to patients that just say surgery on my neck or similar. He stopped when I began to grow impatient.

If you are going to operate on my spine I want to know just what you are going to do and how you are going to do it! :) Truthfully, I am losing ground any more; just can't keep up at my age with so much going on.

GE, I am not sure about a good solar charger now days. The one I have on my HAM radio was purchased at Radio Shack in ‘96 or ‘97. Because it’s only use has been to charge the large radio battery I am not even sure it would be sufficient to charge anything else. Probably a miracle it still functions.

I do not know about updated solar chargers. I see them advertised with claims I know mine would not do. i.e. charge on overcast days, charge a cell phone fast... Hopefully another FreeQ can help with this.

***Wow, atropine, too, probably such tiny amounts so harmless***

All Contac cold med ingredients were minor dosages - a GREAT cold med. The lawyers saw an opening and threatened to sue it off of the market, which they did. Humbug!!!

I still have some hyoscyamine around but it is so good that it can fairly quickly make it difficult to urinate - a real anticholinergic drying agent! So discretion...

Ok. Thanks. I’ll have to do some more reading.

I bought a radio with a built in battery and solar charger as well as the manual crank a few years ago. Solar doesn’t work to charge enough for 30 seconds. But the hand crank works.

I also got a solar battery charger, but I didn’t think it do a very good job either. At least it has an adapter for an electric circuit.

A few years ago, I saw a gizmo that you could set in a chair and peddle to charge some sort of battery to use for whatever electrical device you needed to use —probably should have bought it. Ha.
