GE, I am not sure about a good solar charger now days. The one I have on my HAM radio was purchased at Radio Shack in ‘96 or ‘97. Because it’s only use has been to charge the large radio battery I am not even sure it would be sufficient to charge anything else. Probably a miracle it still functions.

I do not know about updated solar chargers. I see them advertised with claims I know mine would not do. i.e. charge on overcast days, charge a cell phone fast... Hopefully another FreeQ can help with this.

Ok. Thanks. I’ll have to do some more reading.

I bought a radio with a built in battery and solar charger as well as the manual crank a few years ago. Solar doesn’t work to charge enough for 30 seconds. But the hand crank works.

I also got a solar battery charger, but I didn’t think it do a very good job either. At least it has an adapter for an electric circuit.

A few years ago, I saw a gizmo that you could set in a chair and peddle to charge some sort of battery to use for whatever electrical device you needed to use —probably should have bought it. Ha.
