Actually, it is the reverse. The Democrats found it very inconvenient to produce extra ballots in 6 different states. If they do away with the electoral college, they can flood the popular vote from one state. Problem is solved.
Hey Moronic Cohen, check out the Constitution. We don’t have election of the President by the voters in this country. It’s the state legislators who elect the President. What needs to be abolished is the “archaic” popular vote, the one that looks like Venezuela and allows anyone with a drivers license to become an ipso facto registered voter who self-certifies as a U.S. citizen.

Actually it's a complete waste of time, and I hope they keep on wasting time for the next two years. There is no way three quarters of the states would ever to ratify something like this. There is no way they'll even get the required two thirds of both houses. If they really want to jigger the electoral system they'll probably have better luck in adding stars to the flag since that only takes a simple majority in both houses plus a presidential signature. Even that is doubtful though. I don't think any of our territories want to be states.

The Democrats (and their CCP overlords) would pull out everything in order to transform OUR Constitution into a socialist's dream.
We're talking BILLIONS and BILLIONS of dollars of graft that would directed towards the convention delegates.
The delegates could modify the Constitution in any way the wanted with just a majority vote. Bypassing the senate and state approval process.
Remember, the original constitutional convention was only supposed to amend the Articles of Confederation. Instead, the delegates decided to throw everything out and start from scratch.
Do you want to hand that kind of power to a set of delegates today?

They’ve been working to do away with the Electoral College and requirements for POTUS for years. They just might sneak those past us one day soon.
While they are running the fools errand, we need to organization and put up ballot items. There are 70+ million of us out there. It’s now time to put term limits to the test and primary anyone who opposes it.

The 16th was never fully ratified and they did it anyway. No reason why they won’t do it again.
I expect them to repeal the 2nd Amendment while they’re at it.
