Mozilla Says ‘Deplatforming’ Trump Not Enough, Wants to Shield Internet from ‘Bad Actors’ as Users Uninstall Firefox in Disgust

Mozilla, developer of the Firefox internet browser, has argued that more must be done to keep Donald Trump and other “bad actors” out of cyberspace, prompting many to vow to never use the group’s services again.

In a blog post titled ‘We need more than deplatforming’, the open-source software community said that Twitter’s decision to permanently ban Trump from its platform didn’t go far enough in weeding out “hate” on the internet. While blaming Trump for the “siege and take-over” of the US Capitol on January 6, the non-profit tech group argued that “white supremacy is about more than any one personality.”

“We need solutions that don’t start after untold damage has been done.Changing these dangerous dynamics requires more than just the temporary silencing or permanent removal of bad actors from social media platforms,” Mozilla wrote.

I think it is.
It has a built-in VPN that can be activated. My Norton 360 also gives me anonymity.
Go with Pale Moon, then.

Not exactly; it uses the Google Blink layout engine, called WebKit.

You repeatedly seem to confuse Chrome with chromium.

I know the diff between the two. Ask me any question regarding the compilation of chromium. I’ll ask, what’s the first step?

Hey my Linux friend, I am in the same position. I had issues with the Linux version of Brave. And I absolutely must have NoScript. So I am playing with chasing down options now. I will drop a line if I come up with something.

I would recommend TOR because it is not just for the onion network, it can be used for the normal top level sites too. But it is starting to have problems. They are setting up server security now that doesn’t like a lot of the TOR exit nodes. So when it sees an exit node it doesn’t like it makes you go though a Google captcha session to continue. Well... that hooks you right back to Google again.

But if I find a good combination I will update Bob. :)

I don’t trust anything linked to Google. Avoid that as much as possible.

Chrome is prolly your best bet. It’s open source and developed by people of all stripes. And it will have the latest security patches.

Ah yes, Chrome. Google's all-seeing eye.

1 thing I don’t like about Brave is you can’t put the bookmarks folder on the left side? Like I have on FireFox and most other browsers.
Or is it just me?

I haven't updated FF in 6 months so I think I'm ok.

I believe they would likely consider me a bad actor tho.

I'm unemployed and have spent the entire summer plagiarizing all of you here on FR cutting and pasting your best remarks directly to fox news online discussions. 12 hours today alone so far. Good clean fun!

TOR is god for anonymity, but at the safest setting, most websites do not work. Ones like 4chan or 8kun(Q spot) do. Lots of racism and foulness just in those two.
