I’ve tried from both my iPad as well as my iPhone and I keep getting the message “oops, something went wrong. Please try again later.” Something went wrong all right… I’m wondering if these bastards are doing some self protection because of a mass exodus. If they allow everybody to delete their account who wants to I can’t imagine what it would do to damage their brand. Not that they haven’t done enough on their own. I sense and anticipated financial tanking, well deserved however. They’ve earned it…

I was just able to deactivate an old dormant account with no problem.
I deleted main account yesterday after changing username and email.
My wife and I decided many years ago we would not subscribe to Twitter,fb, Instagram etc.....we knew what they were good for but had a strong feeling something like this would come of it, and sure enough. The more I hear the happier I am we made the decision we did when we did.
You can only deactivate the account not delete it. I have old suspended and banned accounts from more than a year ago that still show as suspended. I probably have at least 8-10 suspended/banned accounts I can log into, but cannot post using them. I assume jack gets payola by his user database size, not activity.

I started a Twitter account about 5 years ago. I was on it, but hated it. I just walked away.
Didn’t delete or anything. Just walked away. I made sure to change my password to something ridiculous in case of a breach.
Twitter is a data gathering system. I abuse data. So if you want to leave don’t do it in a way that preserves their data. Just ruin their metrics by doing something they ask you not to do.
They give an option of deleting an account. Don’t work with them on a single data point
Im thinking of doing an Opus on FB...so they’ll delete me and I don’t have to do it.
Had no problem this morning from PC. they have it in help file how to close the account. Now I gotta go check mt ipads and I phones. TNX
