Kyrie Irving didn’t fly with the Nets for Friday’s game at Memphis, and his status (along with that of Kevin Durant) is still up in the air for Sunday’s home tilt against the Thunder.
A source familiar with the situation told The Post that Irving is fine physically, but was upset by the attack on the U.S. Capitol in Washington by supporters of President Donald Trump.
The All-Star isn’t AWOL, and the team has been aware of why he’s not playing. Irving, in essence, took personal days, according to a source.

Another example of why I haven’t watched NCAA or NBA round ball for a couple of decades. ....Always some drama queens on each team. ....Last 5 minutes take 20-30 minutes to play because of all the stupid time-outs.
Agree with all that you said.
I wish FIFA and the referees would automatically red card players for diving & acting. It really gives the game a horrible reputation.
If I coached and one of my players did that, he’d be kicked off the team.
“Ever get hit with a 90 mph fastball?”
I have. Right in the elbow. Very painful.
Knicks dodged a bullet.

I respect the fact that you are not being a wiseguy. The thing is that getting hit by a fastball is an exception to the rule and maybe happens a few times in a season. In soccer, the ball is rock hard and coming with tremendous velocity (you can only tell when playing). And it’s expected many times in a game that you are to intentionally strike it with your head. And you are most often going up against opposing players body to body and head to head and often clashing bone on bone.
And many people don’t know that checking is allowed in soccer as long as you are playing the ball. There are many very hard hits. And again, they are bone on bone with no pads.
Jeez, I’m glad I stick to ping pong and HORSE!
