That’s just it: Even if Trump were at the WH Pence would still have authority to call out the NG to the Capitol if he were at the Capitol. Pelosi would have the authority if she were the highest federal official on site at the Capitol.

At the Georgia rally 2 nights ago he said big things would be coming out over the coming days. I’m not holding my breath. And if it was hard to get the media to pay attention before, how will it be after today? I hope I’m wrong but Trumps mouth may have written some checks that his actions won’t be able to cash. What a disappointing mess we are in.
There seems to be no one in position to support an invocation of the Insurrection Act. Most needed to do so have already stated they will not comply.
