Serious question: Best place in America for conservatives to rebuild?

Posted on 01/05/2021 6:18:46 AM PST by Taffylucy

Please don't misunderstand, I'm not a 'cut and run' type.

I have always been a fighter--but we must be strategic in our warrior ways, especially when we've allowed our adversaries, that want to erase us and re-engineer us--or even disappear us!--to have gained such a strong foothold within our states, our towns, our schools, our homes--and worst--in our children's minds ( aka, the FUTURE).

It was Lenin that said I believe, something to the effect of, "You get the youth, you get the future". Hitler applied this totally as the Hitler Youth were so brainwashed they marched like single-threaded pod people ALL FOR THE STATE and their own demise.

So I'm also a pragmatic person.

Thoughts on best regions, states, areas, etc in US under current trends (next 5-8 years)? Where conservatives can expect baseline civil rights and opportunity, adequate safety, basically a reasonable 'life' where we coalesce and restrengthen?

Sorry for the gloomy tone, maybe today and tomorrow, with presentation of specific fraud on the floor of congress (FRAUD THAT FULLY 50% OF AMERICANS HAVE NEVER EVEN SEEN--HAVING BEEN TOLD BY CRIMINAL MASS MEDIA, RELENTLESSLY, MONOTONOUSLY, THAT ALL CLAIMS OF FRAUD ARE 'BASELESS'.) will give a glimmer of positivity --in the meantime--resilience requires thinking across multiple scenarios.

Thanks.

On the other hand, a distant relative who is a native Californian, who complains about the degeneration of US culture just as he works endlessly to support Leftist degeneracy and politics, spat forth this when I had praised the Mexicans I have known: “My father always HATED them!”

This isn’t news.

This guy is maybe the worst offender of pimping his meanderings in news.

He started on Saturdays, but is so impressed with himself, is cluttering “news” band width every day.

Lot’s of good comments and, as always, you are right on target.

As you point out, politics is local and education is the high ground.

Conservatives work. They concentrate on their jobs, family, homes, nest-eggs and perhaps their immortal souls. Zoning boards, state house legislation, city counsel and esoteric national issues are way down the list.

Liberals are inflated with controlling others as they will not govern themselves. It is much easier to unite with like-minded busy-bodies and make officious rules for others then to take care of their own life.

I would add that we have failed in part by letting all levels of government in general get too big and controlling. Too many levers, throttles and knobs on the machine of government. Too many places for people to get control and self importance. Local, state and Federal.

Self important liberals live and breath this political stew trying to remake the world and convinced it is all perfectible with just one more law or regulation.

Leftists concentrate on control. Media, academia, regulatory commissions, philanthropic foundations, SOS offices, petty district attorneys, planning commissions and financial regulation. Conservatives concentrate on vocation, family and protecting our nation.

Agreed. I have a daughter stationed in Alexandria. I’m always slightly nervous when I enter the state.

Solar depends on the actual(net) cost to install divided by the net metering you get back from your local utility. The net metering is a state mandating rate which can be changed.

The price of the panels are now $250/panel. My electric bills are $200/month here in NH. Half of that is fees/taxes and service charges. So, $100/month in actual electricity from Eversource(the utility). If I could install an array for $8000 less the 26% federal tax credit = a 6 year payoff from the current net metering rate.

I wanna relocate right next door to Humblegunner. Get a huge screen facing his place and post my blog everyday. “Good morning Texas! Here’s what I think.......someone needs to mow their lawn today. Someone also needs to lose quite a few pounds too.”

Cheers.

Best place Gulf Coast of Florida and Polk County in Florida. Pinellas and Hillsborough are swing countries, but from Citrus to Lee it is pretty conservative. Monroe County is pretty conservative, on the mainland but Key West, which is Monroe County, is moderate.

The money is in the inverter and batteries.

BTW, I work for the power company here. We have a couple of large solar projects and sell “shares” to customers who want to be in on solar but not install on their house. For us it is very much an experiment to test the reliability and real world life span of the idea in general.

I used to be a huge fan of Solar. Not any more. Nuclear is the future, as far as I can see.

“We have lost the schools from K through postgraduate and now we have lost the election. Soon we will lose your second amendment.”

We *never* had the schools, which were based on the Prussian model of education from the beginning.

I’ve never understood why Christians and conservatives put so much energy into a lost cause

Thanks for your creative thinking Taffylucy. We will need more of that as the future rolls-out.

What would happen if, say, a Marxist coup took over the government of the United States and in three years failed leaving behind a wrecked economy and a Federal government incapable of functioning. People could be looking for a better place to live, work, and raise their children in peace within a system of values capable of rebuilding a powerful and free America.

A basic consideration for any geo-political “homeland”, that large numbers can migrate into, is the local economies’ ability to support them. The more remote a region the less likely this can happen unless you are prepared for subsistence farming. This is good choice for young families but as they grow older they will need their youngsters committed to stay home and support them. Any parent knows this is risky.

Another option, and I think a better one, is to move to a region where the residents share and sustain the same values you do and have friendly local governments and economic infrastructure already in place. To be independent a port system, international airports, and not least - military installations up and running that are sympathetic to your purpose would be an objective. This describes the Southern tier of states from South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas. Florida would over time become a strongly conservative state through in migration.

I am not suggesting a formal secession or reestablishment of the old Confederacy is necessary, but a cooperative of states bound in common values, economic interests, and mutual defense agreements relying on existing state guard units. All other governing structures would remain in place. This way such a movement would not have to invent the wheel over and again. These relationships already exist less formally in many cases.

Considering that we are writing this today January 5th 2021 is not lost on me and all that the Georgia vote and the Electoral Certification tomorrow implies for us and our Country. While it is right to consider what we would do if this or some other scene might play out; I think we owe it to those who came before us and our children’s children to take off our gloves first and fight until we no longer can to make our system work.

As a people who value human life and the decency to treat others as our selves, we have hesitated to use the weapons of our deadly enemy but they have brought this fight to us. Now we must fight for the life we hold dear.

I am an old man who has known what war means and peace is better, but every generation must struggle for its freedom. There are hills worth dying on and the time may come when we must risk it all or live a coward’s life in the ashes of never knowing what might have been.

It looks like we will know the answer soon.

It do get hot in July and August. That’s why God made pools and A/C. BC (bwfore Covid0 we usually go to mountains in NC or upstate NY to get away from the furnace.

I don’t have to tell you about the tax and cost of living advantages living in SC.

I live in Sun City Hilton Head. We play golf on the island often. I’m a member of a 24 guy, Saturday golf group and we can negotiate good discounts at some of the better courses like Hilton Head National.

You’re one hell of a writer and a good thinker. It must not be good in the neighborhood if you’re abandoning it. What about a nicer one in your current state or one nearby? You’ll avoid a lot of uncertainty and adjustment if you just moved somewhere nicer but not too far away. Maybe a nice, easily defensible lakeside or mountaintop retreat. :)

Texas. We still significantly outnumber the left-wingers, for now. Cornyn won re-election by over 10%. Chip Roy beat abortion Barbie. Trump won the state by almost 6%. We can both save Texas and save freedom. Then TX can ask LA, MS, AL, TN, SC, NC, FL, KY, WV, IN, AR, MO, IA, OK, KS, NE, SD, ND, WY, MT, ID, and UT if they want to join us.
