He specifically talks about Free Republic.

After watching this for the last few years, and seeing these attacks go hyper personal even from the beginning, I realized they are trying to drive the normal type of Freeper off the site, and make them feel under siege and unwelcome.

They are trying to make them feel as if the site is not their type of site, more than they are trying to promote an idea or win an argument.

That is a VERY important article. It explains a lot of the activity beyond the trees.

Have no doubt that the posters described are on FreeRepublic, shaping perceptions. And too many are quick to hop on that train.

you can move the perceptions of millions of people with a very small foot print.

The author uses the subject of the police as an illustration. Have we seen that, even on this thread? Why yes. Yes we have.

Free Republic is and has been under attack by the derps.

Good find, greeneyes. Very interesting and makes a lot of sense. Someone here 2 threads ago ? Gave a breakdown of something similar. Sorry I can’t remember who. When I first started reading FR, I loved the comments, they were funny, spot on, and pretty much agreed with my positions. I wish I was better at spotting shills beyond the trees. I don’t mind some slides though. They add some brevity, which we need.
