Got a dusting of snow last night (pretty much melted now since it’s barely above freezing).

Good soup weather. I’ve got 5+ pounds of potatoes, so potato soup in the crockpot it is. Found crockpot recipe for potato soup that uses evaporated milk, since I don’t want to use my fresh milk supply. Taking bits and pieces of other potato soup recipes I’ve found. Could be wonderful or a disaster; as long as it’s edible it’s good. Wish me luck!

Good luck with the soup adventure! That’s exactly the way I cook. I start with a recipe that looks interesting but modify it a bit as I go, according to what I have on hand and what sounds good. Makes it hard to replicate something if it turns out well though. Hubby always asks me if we’ve had something before (it’s part of his aspieness). I can honestly typically say no, not exactly the same.

Looks like we’re having the same weather! Although here the snow is still coming down. Starting to stick. The Cardinals at the feeder are absolutely gorgeous against the snow

I always add a can of evaporated milk to my potato soup.
