Good luck with the soup adventure! That’s exactly the way I cook. I start with a recipe that looks interesting but modify it a bit as I go, according to what I have on hand and what sounds good. Makes it hard to replicate something if it turns out well though. Hubby always asks me if we’ve had something before (it’s part of his aspieness). I can honestly typically say no, not exactly the same.

Have lots of cardinals at my feeders too, along with some juncos, titmice, chickadees, one woodpecker, 3 squirrels and lots of yellow-throated warblers. All of them little pigs.
