I know how that could happen (I’m an EE):
You can vary the frequency at the towers quickly and at regular intervals to force the phone to relock on the signal. It forces the phone to transmit continuously.
Phones are just radios. The ratio between transmitting and remaining passive and receiving is called ‘duty cycle’.
Normally, once your phone locks on to a tower its passive until it has a reason not to be. Duty cycle could be as low as 5%.
You can force the phone to keep relocking with the tower such that the duty cycle approaches 100%.
I don’t think it had anything to do with the cold.

Well, if this was all part of the plan, I am assuming that Pence, now looking completely independent from the president, will somehow save the day. Hey, I’d be as happy as a clam if he did, but all I’m seeing tonight is even more backstabbers being revealed. Loeffler, Lee, Cotton....now that they think President Trump is out the door, they need to do the swamp boogie.

I wonder if the 25th amendment ploy is to keep him from following through on that Executive Order he issued in 2018 regarding elections. Why now? I mean, the guy has only two weeks left for heaven’s sakes.
I had wondered if Pence wouldn’t emulate Nixon in 1960. He refused to contest a clearly crooked election because he worried about the damage it would do to the country. Instead, Pence crawled under the Constitution.
So the new narrative for Pence can be: “he couldn’t take it any more. He tried and tried, but Trump was just too awful. He had to go. Now.”
