Is Anyone Else Alone This Christmas Eve? (annual vanity)

Just wondering if any of my fellow Freepers are, like me, spending Christmas Eve solo.

Unlike previous years, however, I'm not quite alone, as I am now sharing my home with a two year old Greyhound I adopted last Spring.

Other than he and I, it's a cozy, quiet, peaceful and solo Christmas Eve. How about everyone else?

I am alone. Lost my husband of over 47 years to a stroke in July of this year. We moved from Carson City, NV 2 years ago, thinking ID would be a better place. Never had a chance to find out. I really do not know anyone, but that is okay. I do a lot of reading here and other forums.

I just finished watching Miracle on 34th Street.

It is an amazing movie.

So compelling on so many levels.

Great as a childrens' movie, just entertainment, or for cynical adults.

Seems to be your Christmas tradition

Yes, it certainly turned into one. The first year (2011, I think) I was surprised that so many here were in the same boat as I. So, most years since I’ve posted asking the same question. I feel like we’re almost ersatz family here so it’s almost like spending Christmas Eve together with a bickering, dysfunctional, yet caring group of family and friends.
