This brings to mind a speech I saw Jimmy Stewart deliver on behalf of William Scranton who was running for President (Republican) in 1964, I think. He comes into the huge coliseum with maybe 15,000 people in attendance, and he starts out: "You know... they used to say you could take all the Republicans in Pennsylvania and put them in a phone booth... Some phone booth!" The audience roared! I was a big Goldwater fan that year but that was a great moment and Jimmy Stewart was a star.
