It's official: Harrison Ford (Age 78) will return in a fifth 'Indiana Jones' movie

Harrison Ford will be grabbing his whip and ramming on his hat for a fifth "Indiana Jones" movie, Disney has confirmed -- a mere 41 years after the first installment, "Raiders of the Lost Ark," was released.

Disney said in a tweet on Friday that the movie would be produced by its production arm Lucasfilm and released in July 2022, and that "Indy himself, Harrison Ford, will be back to continue his iconic character's journey."

The entertainment giant also confirmed the news in an investor presentation, saying the movie was currently in "pre-production."

Maybe he could meet up with Ben Gates? Indiana Jones and the Galactic Treasure? Or, if it’s a prequel, Indiana Jones and the State Treasure?

Why. They didn't crap on the franchise enough with number 4?

Bingo. 1-3 were great. 4 started out well enough (“Hound Dog sequence ) then went rapidly down hill..... lead lined, indeed!

He’ll be 12 years older than Connery was at the time they shot LAST CRUSADE.

Last Crusade gets a “good” tag only because Crystal Skull was so bad. Everyone was hoping #4 would bring back the magic of #1.

>>There are still a lot of good old ones.

They still make money for Red Ted Turner Warner Disney etc.

Those copyrights are NEVER going to expire. They’ll kick the can out another 30 years.

BILLIONS in revenue every year. None of it goes to those in the films (work for hire) and with this wealth of back catalogs they are insured against box office flops.

If it’s going to be set in the 70s then it’s gotta have a disco soundtrack

So, you never watch any movies, old or otherwise?

I watch some but don’t buy much these days and don’t believe that just because I am “boycotting new product” that I would somehow be starving the beast.

I have no paid subscription services. And when I buy used titles they don’t see a dime from me.

I talked with Debra Paget about this one but I’ve never seen it. She liked working with Fritz Lang but she hated the bastardized version that came out in America where a studio edited 2 feature films down into one.

Both original features are available now through some streaming services. Mine is free.

Here is new trailer to promote both films (the first and the sequel). Has some of the feel that the Indy films were going for (not just adventure serials like the Star Wars films).

We buy videos from the thrift store. 2 or 3 dollars a hit, sometimes half-price; and my husband knows how to judge if they’re still good, or clean them up if they’re salvageable. We’ve obtained hundreds of great old movies that way.

There’s a used bookstore chain (not as good as it once was) where I’ve found closeout items (deadstock from larger retailers) at wholesale or cheaper prices.

And with that as the baseline used copies could be found even cheaper.

So a $40-60 boxed set of films marked down to $20 or less and even lower with coupon/sales. And I picked up some 4 disc packs of Alfred Hitchock’s Universal films for $3 each (complete with bonus features).

I watch some of the ad sponsored streaming content but what is listed this month is gone the next.
