Your brother-in-law is the guy married to your sister. His brother is not your brother-in-law, unless she’s married to both of them. 😄

Well I thought my husband’s brothers were my brother in laws. And I had 2 of those. My sister’s husband made a third one. Isn’t that what we said? You got my head a spinning again. LOL

What the heck we always called all our extended family in-laws. Standing joke was you are either an in-law or an out-law. And all relatives were in.

Yes, your husband’s brothers are your brothers-in-law. But we were talking about a brother-in-law’s brother, which can only happen with the person married to your sister. So, the brother of your sister’s husband is just “extended family.”

What the heck we always called all our extended family in-laws.

A friend back in college was telling a story and he said something about his "aunt's husband." I stopped him and said, "Why don't you call him your uncle?"

He looked at me like I had just said there are 52 states and said, "No. An uncle is the brother of your mother or father."

I felt rather foolish at that moment and remind silent...vowing privately to continue calling all my aunt's husbands "uncle."
