What the heck we always called all our extended family in-laws.

A friend back in college was telling a story and he said something about his "aunt's husband." I stopped him and said, "Why don't you call him your uncle?"

He looked at me like I had just said there are 52 states and said, "No. An uncle is the brother of your mother or father."

I felt rather foolish at that moment and remind silent...vowing privately to continue calling all my aunt's husbands "uncle."

LOL. We also used the phrase “some sort of relative”. It’s a lot easier.

Under our culture you not he were correct.
