It’s most likely a change in how “Smart Quotes” (both single and double) are handled (and UTF8) since the server migration. I’ve noticed that posting links using my regular computer (where Smart Sh*t is all turned off) still works fine, but on my iPad, which loves using Smart Sh*t, I have to delete the quotes from my link HREF and image SRC strings, or else the links and images don’t work.
So my advice is to either don’t use quotes inside HTML tags, or be very careful to use only the plain-vanilla ASCII apostrophe or plain-vanilla ASCII double-quote. Leave that fancy “Smart Sh*t” for MS-Word.

We had similar html problems several years ago after a major FR software upgrade.
I remember having to use a special strict ascii notepad type program to formulate posts with html because the FR software would change the text coding.
It took a while for John to work that/those bug(s) out.

As a result of this thread I figured out how to disable Smart Quotes on my iPad, so Hooray and Thank You. Now my links will work without having to screw around.
Settings -> General -> Keyboard then switch off the Smart stuff.

Mac user here. My experience of smart quotes is that if I copy <a href=""> into my reply, I can paste the label of the link first and then paste the target URL between the quote marks, and the link will work. If OTOH I paste the target URL between the quote marks first, and then paste the label of the link in its place, the trailing quote mark after the URL gets “smart” - with the result that my link, and sometimes some following text, disappear when I do a preview. When that happens, tho, I can cure it by simply deleting the (trailing) smart quote and hitting the “ key. Then the link shows up in preview, and is functional.
