Thank you. You are right about the meter. I’m not sure exactly what meter is, but I assume you mean the syllables in the lines do not match the notes.
I made some revisions, mostly minor in the way of changing prepositions, removing or adding articles, or replacing some words with synonyms that have shorter or longer syllables.
I don’t think I really have an ear for music. Maybe I am still off somewhere. Maybe it would sound better if “crows” were replaced with “vultures,” for instance.
One line I changed completely. How’s this:
