I did have a pretty good day. After staying up all night, I slept this morning. Put all my food contributions in crock pots, and puttered around the house doing simple house stuff and listening to the war room.
Daughter did all the hard stuff this year, since my oven was out of commission.
Last year we had both the dishswasher and the oven die prior to Thanksgiving. I did some frantic web research, then (literally) opened up a secret stash of 5's and 10s I'd been squirreling away all year, and bought a Breville convection toaster which could hold a 12-lb turkey, on a 50% off early Black Friday sale. Best turkey I'd ever eaten -- cooked in about 2 hours. The dishwasher and the oven each have their own chapter...
Sounds like a symbiotic relationship: your crock pots and her oven. I remember when women stayed up all night before holidays cooking and baking. I don't hear much about it any more. Of course I recall that you are prone to some sleepless nights; sounds like you made good use of the time.
Have a happy Thanksgiving weekend.
