THE OFF BUTTON: STOP LIVING ON THEIR TERMS
American Partisan ^ | 10 Nov, 2020 | Jesse James

I’m a political junkie. I have been since I saw the Clinton debates as a kid in 1995, barely old enough to understand anything but the most rudimentary policy positions, yet utterly fascinated by the seeming import of what was going on. Some kids read Sports Illustrated in high school, I (literally) had a subscription to WSJ. Out of that curiosity came an interest in history, finance, philosophy, and the law. The intoxicating blend of those subjects into front page news can lend themselves to slowly rearrange our lives and mental state around things we have largely no affect over. Furthermore, stop willingly bringing people into your life and thoughts who’s entire existence is defined in opposition and hatred to everything you hold dear. Shepard Smith is a creepy little weirdo who puts makeup on and hyperventilates. If you wouldn’t want him in your living room in person, then it’s past time to consider hitting the off button.

The first thing you need to remind yourself and your loved ones of is that 2020 has provided us with incontrovertible evidence the US is a banana republic. No one in public office, specifically not in ANY federal positions should be taken seriously. If, and there is reasonable doubt here, there were any morally sound people in the federal government they left long ago. So stop giving the grifters and nothing men your attention and respect. So much of the general population is agitated because they are taking this process seriously and not as the carnival ring toss it is. The right has been gifted the most ridiculous, unbelievable and criminal election theft to ever grace these shores. Use it. My favorite part of this entire debacle is that there are people all over this country who believe that a stark raving lunatic talking about roaches and black children rubbing his legs in the pool won millions of more votes than Obama did. The guy who forgot the family dog was dead. We have the ability to degrade the legitimacy of the current system, and thus the only power these people have. Things change when people stop listening to them, and that happens only when people are convinced they are no longer obligated to obey.

To some extent, that’s learning how to live under tyranny. Most of the human race has for almost the entirety of human history. Most people through history have understood how to go on when the government is your enemy.

This is an important point that many don't understand because we grew up in America and took freedom for granted. Freedom has not been the norm throughout human history, the normal state of existence for humans since time immemorial has been to live as a slave, serf, or some other form of bondage. Most of our ancestors left Europe because they got tired of living under kings, princes, dukes, who considered them to be their personal property. It really wasn't until the American Revolution that we started considering the people as sovereign and the average person as having rights that weren't just privileges granted by their masters. The 20th century gave us communism which is just another tyrannical government where the politburo replaces the king. Does it really matter who it is that's chopping off your head because you dared to claim freedom?

It looks like we're heading down that road again. We had a good run but we couldn't keep it, our complacency has bred new generations who don't value freedom, they demand the government keep them safe, fed, and their pockets full of change. They'd rather be cows in a field fat and waiting for slaughter than the deer that looks at the fence then jumps right over it.

What people in America don't seem to realize is that the last 240 years are an anomaly in the human timeline, but we're about to be rudely reminded of what happens when you vote away freedom.

Do not support and subsidize those who suppress you.

Get rid of Smart-anything & that includes your phone. Get a flip phone and a tablet with all the options set to off.

Those apps are free for a reason: they are leashes and trackers and snitches. They will be used to cancel you, to restrict movement and become the basis for your Social Credit score.

Family members insist on their leashes? You have a challenge. Convince them they are enabling their own demise and limitations.

Stream. Go to Pluto if you have a Roku (be aware Roku Channel has dropped Real America’s Voice & Newsmax as of this morning). No cable. Dish has Newsmax. Search out alternatives for internet. 2 hours every morning and another 2 hours every afternoon online or on Pluto or Dish channels (you’ll have to check) for War Room Pandemic. (pandemic.warroom.org) Talk radio is online. You can download podcasts onto a mobile listening device (I can’t keep up with the latest and newest). I don’t ever watch junk TV, so I have no suggestions. I don’t even know what’s on offer. I choose various DIY tutorials on various platforms where I do not subscribe or sign in. (I also browse pinterest and do not sign in) If you like someone’s offerings, email them and tell them you will follow and sub if they are on Bitchute or Vimeo or MeWe or Parler only and explain why.

Family members demand their visual narcotic? Another challenge. I cannot help with that, but perhaps they will now awaken and see how poisonous most of it is.

Consider paying shipping if you can and order from independent manufacturers. This isn’t possible for a lot of us in the rural areas, so that is what it is until someone challenges Bezos and Walmart. I pay more at a local grocery chain where masking is not enforced, rather than drive 25 miles to Walmart. It’s not _that_ much more and they have loyalty points that do save money.

Read indies on Kindle or other platforms. Some really good writers out there. I very rarely pay for novels by downloading free promotions and only a very few indies have been bad enough to not finish, while I can’t even count the *nominated for worthless prize* novels, especially *literary fiction* that I couldn’t even manage to read through the sample. I read 1-3 novels/week, so I save a lot.

Eat at a local diner or small regional chain. Hooked on a particular chain’s menu? Search ‘copycat recipes’ and make them at home.

Become ultra-frugal to stop purchasing stuff that is considered a *use once & discard* item.

Make your own condiments (salad dressing, especially. Takes $1.50 and 30 minutes to replace my own favorite. Purchased at 12 oz for $4-$5 and I can make over 24 oz for that $1.50. Recipe contains blue cheese, which is why it is expensive). Same with sweet & sour sauce: $3.50 makes 36 ounces of one I find superior to anything in the store....everyone has something they make better than the commercial varieties.

Learn to garden, cook, bake, knit, crochet, sew, work wood, work metal, repair, refurbish....something to set yourself a challenge and develop skill and confidence. Can be frivolous (my own current challenge is creating hyper-realistic cat portraits by needle-felting wool. I do this while listening to news programs or podcasts)...the idea is to use the time spent being programmed and eating crap from a package. I’m too old for gardening more than 1-4 tomato plants and I already cook from scratch. I know how to bake & sew and hate both. I am terrible at knitting/crochet. I also draw and needle felt other projects since I no longer have the space to wet felt.

There are millions of ways to reclaim your individuality. Refuse conformity. Do not fit in. Stand out, instead.

I watched the election returns until the wee hours of the morning. I witnessed some of the cheating in the count myself. If this cheating is allowed to stand, I will be done voting or taking part in the political process. This is not a decision that I take lightly. I have been a witness to these type of election shenanigans for 30 years. This is our last chance to hold onto any election integrity at all. If it is allowed to stand then we have become a banana republic. Our votes do not and will not matter, as the elite and the media will just install whomever they like through the manufacture and counting of enough Dem votes to allow their candidate to win. All the while, the GOP will and has just stood by and allowed it to happen. DONE!

I have started and will continue to post large “FRAUD” jpg’s on my local liberal newsrag comments page, on every election article. Really irks the lieftists to keep seeing that, along with my “fraud” and “voter fraud ahead” Disqus avatars.

That sounds like a good plan! Don’t put one on your car unless you are there to guard it!

Yeah, was using a “NRA Life Member” avatar for a long time, really ticked some liberals off with that. Would not think of putting that NRA decal on the car.

My long running “Lock Her Up” avatar also brought periodic bouts of rage.

I agree. So the only way to force a move to a la carte is to cut the cable tv with basic bundle and tell them you will be back when there is a la carte. Hurting their bottom line is the only way. Who is more powerful, the customer base or content providers? Our only leverage is walking away.
