No Time to Die’s Lashana Lynch confirms her character will replace James Bond as 007

There’s been a lot of speculation that Lashana Lynch’s No Time To Die character, MI6 agent Nomi, would be Bond’s replacement as 007 – and now the star herself has confirmed the news.

Though Nomi had previously been confirmed as a 00 agent, we finally know for certain that she’ll be taking up James Bond’s old mantle, with Bond himself retired at the beginning of the film.

Speaking about the role during an interview with Harpers Bazaar, the Captain Marvel star revealed the news and addressed the online abuse she faced when the rumours first surfaced earlier this year.

“I am one Black woman – if it were another Black woman cast in the role, it would have been the same conversation, she would have got the same attacks, the same abuse,” she said.

“I just have to remind myself that the conversation is happening and that I’m a part of something that will be very, very revolutionary.”

Kind of like what happened to “Ghost Busters”.

Just in time for poor Sir Sean Connery to start spinning in his grave.

Really smart - make it all about skin color. Definitely suffering from Chronic Perceived Racism Syndrome (CPRS). Incurable unless you have a full spiritual, mental, and emotional renewal. Otherwise, it completely controls and ruins your life.

I’m glad Sean Connery doesn’t have to know this.

He's spinning in his grave, I'm sure.

Toby Stephens has done a series of radio dramas which follow the novels. For example,Moonraker Does not feature Space Shuttles,Space Stations, laser armed space Marines or Steel toothed giants, but it does feature Winston Churchill and is set in 1954.

"I met Dirk Benedict at the first DragonCon I ever attended."

Dirk, and A-Team co-star Dwight Schultz, are fairly open conservatives. Benedict wrote a pretty scathing essay on the BG reboot for Breitbart's Big Hollywood, and Dwight was (is?) associated with David Horowitz's FrontPage magazine.

I’ve learned to like audio drama.

Every so often I get something from Big Finish.
