President Donald J. Trump Is Protecting America’s Founding Ideals by Promoting Patriotic Education

PROMOTING PATRIOTIC EDUCATION: President Donald J. Trump is working to better enable America’s rising generations to understand the history and principles of our Nation’s founding.

• Through a new Executive Order, President Trump is establishing the President’s Advisory 1776 Commission, which will work to improve understanding of the history and the principles of the founding of the United States among our Nation’s rising generations.
  • Within a year, the Commission will produce a report regarding the core principles of America’s founding and how these principles may be understood to further the blessings of liberty and promote our continuing efforts to form a more perfect Union.
  • The Commission will offer recommendations for the Federal Government to promote patriotic education at Federal sites – including National Parks and Monuments.
  • The Commission will also create the “Presidential 1776 Award” to recognize student knowledge of the American founding and support the Federal Government’s plans to celebrate the 250th anniversary of American Independence.
• Alongside the new Commission, the President is ordering Federal agencies to prioritize patriotic education in the delivery of Federal resources.
• The President is also taking steps to enhance compliance with laws that require America’s educational institutions that receive Federal funds to observe and celebrate Constitution Day.

RESTORING NATIONAL UNITY: President Trump is promoting national unity through renewing understanding of and commitment to America’s shared founding principles.

• The United States of America was founded on the belief that life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are unalienable rights – these principles form the core of our American identity.
• Throughout our history, the United States has strived to better embody our founding principles.
• Unfortunately, some versions of American history offer a misconstrued and one-sided account of our founding in an effort to paint America as a systemically racist country.
• In fact, fewer than one in six eighth graders have proficient knowledge of United States history according to the Nation’s Report Card.
• Restoration of patriotic education relies on State and local education leaders and parents, who must be empowered to choose an education that fits their values and meets their child’s needs.

PRESERVING OUR HISTORY: President Trump will always defend the legacy of our exceptional Nation’s founding along with its extraordinary Founders, and protect America’s ideals and traditions.

• President Trump has firmly stood against attempts to distort America’s history and taken action to promote patriotic education that celebrates the truth about our Nation’s history.
• In September, the President assembled the first White House Conference on American History to address these distortions.
• The President has taken action to establish the National Garden of American Heroes, a statuary park that will memorialize our American heroes for generations to come.
• The President took executive action to ensure that radicals who seek to destroy America’s heritage by tearing down our monuments are prosecuted to the fullest extent under the law.

May be one of trump’s most important accomplishments

If you don’t mind, sir/madam, I would like to send along a long, long screed because I have a passionate interest in education though I am not a teacher myself.

To begin: I’m a graduate of a top tier Canadian University that is quite competitive with American Ivy League schools.

I was in honors biology and graduated in the history and philosopny of science. I went to graduate school for a masters in science eduction. My thesis advisor was a Canadian citizen who was a personal friend of Fidel Castro and Che Guivara. He was also head of the philosophy department of the University of Havana. He returned to Canada to teach in a great Canadian University. He was a member of the Education faculty. He was a Dewey scholar, meaning he was an expert on John Dewey and his education philosophy, which is why he was a friend of Fidel and Che. Anyway Fred’s lectures and seminars were in praise of John Dewey, who has completly infiltrated our colleges of education.

When it camr time for my thesis Fred wanted me to write a long essay of praise to John Dewey. I said, Fred, I can’t do this.If we follow Dewey it will wreck American and Canadian education, perhaps forever. It will certainly wreck our countries. So, for almost fifty years I have been a thesis short of a masters in science education, so I became a science writer and was published in obscure media and a journal or two.

Anyway, I am so grateful the President is determined to turn this around. I can’t express my gratitude to the President or the love I have for our wonderful country.

Be glad Freepers, make others glad. And with the trail the Pesident is blazing, lets return civility to our civilization, and teach it in our schools, whether they be public, charter, private, or homeschooling.

And one more thing: A parting shot as it were. Think about the phrase GUNG HO, the slogan of Evens Carlson’s Second Raider Battalion, U S Marine Corps during World War Two.

It is a Chinese word meaning WORK TOGETHER This became ridiculed when rthe Vietnam War was started and we never hear it anymore. But it’s time for America to not only speak those words, GUNG HO, but to do it. Become Gung Ho for our beloved land, its beloved people, and its beloved culture, civilizrtion and world leadership,

A class studying the US Constitution (as written) should be a requirement to graduate from high school.

I have been praying for this change in high school curriculum, adding a required class in our Constitution that is. It was taught clearly in Civics class in my high school but as an adult I came to understand my school was an exception.

In 2001 I left corporate work and began teaching at a college technical school. I had known of the socialist agenda being carried out in public education but it was brought home vividly in my college students. Our campus was small and very conservative and I was able to freely incorporate sideline education in the Constitution even though I taught drafting and design. This is when I specifically began praying for a change in high school curriculum.

Of course I met a stone wall in bringing this up at state curriculum meetings. I retired due to disability in 2005 but have continued to actively speak for this with the state education board and my state Congress.

I am certain, this being FR, that anyone reading this is well aware of the socialist beast that is our national teacher’s union. I believe the recent Presidential Executive Orders are moving us toward an answer to this prayer.
