Innocent of transgression of the Commandments and dependent on their mother.
Yet, by virtue of their birth, they are stained by “original” sin and are still outside the garden.
The impact of the original sin, is not the issue which is dependent on one’s religious views.
They are NOT born evil or good. They are born dependent and innocent.
