Loved the guy. Absolutely stellar actor.

A quote comes to mind, paraphrased:

Do not mourn that a man such as this died... celebrate that a man such as lived among us...

but yeah... very sad news...

Sean Connery was my FAVORITE of all the Bond actors. I was in high school when I first saw him, or even heard of him, in the movie Goldfinger. From then on, I was hooked on Bond. Rest in Peace.

I hear you. Got the same reaction.

Sad to lose him. 90 ain’t bad though, and he was still all there, for the most part.

Our lives are pathetically short.

He was great as King Arthur in First Knight.

I am positive that he could have knocked out anyone who made fun of the kilt.

I guess all that red meat, white bread and dry martinis finally got him. It’s the “free radicals,” they say.

Very sad. And I’m very sad about this. RIP. WTF else can be said?

So, so, so many classic moments on the screen.

We were going to rent and watch the original “Halloween” tonight. I’m changing that to “Goldfinger”.

I raise my glass to you, Sir Sean.

RE Goldfinger:

One of my personal favorites, too.

I’m sitting here on Halloween night watching the whole Resident Evil series and drinking Jamesons.

Not just Bond. "The Wind And The Lion" from 1975 is also quite good and worth a watch. Written and directed by John Milius (Dirty Harry, Conan, Red Dawn, Apocalypse Now).

Sir Sean played his role as Raisuli quite well, but the most memorable part of the movie was Capt. Jerome’s Marine and US Navy rifle company’s quick-stepping march to capture the Moroccan palace. That segment of the film could be used in Marine recruitment efforts.

Russia House

The Hunt For Red October

The Man Who Would Be King

Thunderball was the first movie soundtrack LP that I ever purchased.
