:o])

My mother had delicate-looking feet with a AAA heel, making it very hard to find shoes, even though her feet were a size six. I got her heel and my dad’s width. Blisters were a part of life, and often still are. I try not to buy shoes too often unless they have an adjustable strap at the heel. I don’t like blisters! The alternative is buying expensive shoes, but even then, I most often end up returning them.

I just saw that!

I decided to go out and decide what I can remove from the truck now, in anticipation of selling it, and thought I’d check the temp to see if I needed a jacket.

Yep, it’s not even 80° right now, so I will need something. But I looked up the weather for you, and across the board, you’re having the worst weather. What cracked me up was this warning for your ZIP: (The quotes are mine!)

Special Weather Statement until FRI 8:00 PM EDT
Action Recommended
“Avoid the subject event as per the instructions”
Issued By
Greenville-Spartanburg - SC, US, National Weather Service
Affected Area
Union County
Description
...INCREASED FIRE DANGER FROM NOON EDT TODAY THROUGH THIS EVENING...

Gusty winds and low relative humidity will develop this afternoon across the western Carolinas and northeast Georgia. Fuels will dry out quickly this afternoon, which will create conditions ripe for an increased risk of wildfires.

Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether you can burn Friday. If you do burn, use extreme caution since fires can quickly get out of hand under these conditions.

We weren’t planning to burn anything today. Eventually, we’ll have our fine, new fire pit, but not yet.

Sorry, ganag. I was going to respond but then I had some unexpected company, and now, it’s finally time for me to head down the hall.

To those who won’t be here over the weekend, Happy Mother’s Day to your Missuses!

I hope you have a good night. I’ve chopped six peppers and three onions.

Thanks. It wasn’t a bad night, considering the interruptions, but at least I hadn’t begun to think about sleep, yet.

I don’t know what you cooked but from those two ingredients, I bet it was delicious!

I slept in. I wasn’t going to, but then I woke up around 0130 or so and decided “wotheheck?” and shut the alarm off. It allowed me another two hours of sleep.

I just put the chopped vegetables in ziplock bags for a future event. Maybe I’ll make fish salad. I wonder if I have any frozen fish fillets. Or bean salad.

The WSJ says the price of chicken is going up, but we haven’t seen it at Walmart yet.

I used to do that, before I sold the freezer. I also used to dehydrate peppers and onions and then freeze them. Not the same as “freeze-dried” but still...

I don’t like Walmart meats. I find most of them tough and tasteless. FS and his PW bought a side of beef and I’m sure they’ll keep doing it as long as they can, and as long as they have room to store it. They said they would share with me.

They sent me photos of their new fire pit last night. Their patio looks very nice, but I notice they still only have two chairs... :o])

Some days, one just likes to sit and think about what could be...

If I could stand the smell, I’d get an aquarium. I don’t like cleaning up after other things/people. But one can’t snuggle with fish.

I’m still leaning towards a dog, but it will take me a while to find the right one. Something that doesn’t shed and doesn’t bark. Tall order, that!

Nothing is on the agenda for today, yet. I’m still waiting to see how I feel. I slept with the doors open last night, trying to make sure the living room was fairly cool by the time I’m ready to close the doors. I did it in Henderson, but it was a security door. The problem is that there was a gap under it and field mice used to come in. I took care of them in short order, though!

My refrigerator smells like onions and garlic now.

There was some zucchini in the drawer that had been there too long to be edible, but not so long that it had gone all gooey.

I hate when things in the fridge become questionable science projects. But living alone, it seems to happen much more frequently that it did when I had at least one more mouth to feed.

These days, I’m glad for a refrigerator!

Having more than one person shopping sometimes results in suboptimal produce outcomes. *sigh* At least I didn’t have to assign a teenbro to hose out the drawer.

I’m quite familiar with suboptimal produce outcomes. Also, suboptimal merchandise outcomes. There are many things to be thankful for when one lives a solitary life. Also, many things to miss.

I don’t know who she is, but it’s always a melancholy morning when one dreams of anyone passing. Dreaming of those who have already passed is often pleasant. ;o]

Hiya, Nully!
